After witnessing a friend surviving major accident on LPT2 while being a passenger in Iriz, I'm sold on Proton Persona when deciding which car to buy few months ago. The big difference is how the car react to accident caused by third party (other motorist or environment), and Bezza failed in this department regardless how many gadgets they throw in.
Quite curious how was your car at this point. Been searching some time, persona seem to have lot a problem even on a new car. Can you kindly share your review so far?
Incredibly expensive for what it is. Sat in one (unfortunately) on a slightly longer journey and couldn't wait to get out of it. Legit scary and uncomfortable. To drive it it's even worse. I think so far of all cars I have driven. One of the worst driving positions I have tried is this car.
I couldn't agree more on the driver's seating position, having been driving a Bezza for the past few months, I never found a sweet spot with the fixed steering column. But it does 2 things well, which is getting from point A to B and fuel economy
@@funofboredom ESC or VSA is available on the 1.3 X. The AV gets the ASA 2.0, eco start stop and some cosmetic stuff i think leather seats. To me ASA is an opportunity for ppl to play their phones when they could have just pay attn. But it's a good effort on safety. No one wants to use it but it is always good to have
@@funofboredom yes Advance is more expensive. Keep in mind, if u crack that windscreen you need a professional installer or back to the SC. Need to pay a premium for the additional windscreen insurance i think.
8 years driving saga 1.3. been in one fairly minor accident because of the saga downshift when we emergency brake, and near miss major accident when I had no traction on a rainy day and the car did a donut missing every car and bike on a major highway at 8am, coming to a stop facing traffic just before slamming sideways into a standstill car. So unless someone can show me point for point, how not having the ASA and TCS is safer than having it, its going to be the bezza for me. Let's not get into how there's usually no one at the proton center to fix any problem. Or how electromagnetic signals jam the protons engine and locking mechanisms from working. And you're stuck for 20 mins to let it reset. Or how the proton service centers prefer you go to another center rather than where you choose to go to for convenience. Do tell proton enthusiasts.
So in short, its just a revised engine with multiple facelift. I don't reckon it to have the 10k premium over the saga top spec. Might as well go for the Persona; better handling, more spacious and bigger engine. I've driven the 1st gen Bezza and if this is just the same as the previous ones, then Perodua should really consider hiring better engineers.
@@WapCar agreed. But for me its better to take the Saga. A 10k difference is like day and night for someone working a 9-5, plus above all, the handling of the Saga is better. People often overlook the importance of handling, until the need to swerve left and right suddenly arises 😅 happened to me with my Iriz at 160kmph trying to avoid a cat that suddenly jump right in front of my car (its stupid to drive that fast, but it was an emergency 😅) And to top it off, Saga's fuel consumption is not that bad as opposed to the Bezza.
This pricing happens when the company overconfident of its sale. I call this arrogant, if u can buy this u have money to spare or u didnt survey properly.

Had an eerie accident experience with Perodua Bezza in 2017. Then, in early 2019, I bought a used 2018 Proton Persona. Never looked back since then, keep me smiling every time I'm behind the wheels. But, yes, I agree, there are still some minor issues such as rattling dashboard and incompetent service advisors.
I wonder how heavy load the Bezza can carry with its 500 liter of bootspace, I driven my parent's Saga fully loaded with drinking water and the car tend to oversteer yet still manageable, lets see if Bezza can carry that much heavy load without losing control
i actually booked a grab and turns out the driver drive a bezza , total of 4 people including the driver and with some luggage.... it's actually too heavy for the car and makes alot sound when you go over a bump...
Worth it? If you think spending 10k more when you can buy saga premium is worth it then there's nothing to say anymore. Kotak design with bontot tonggek, I don't know why people still buy this car.
As if saga will shred your wallet to pieces. For someone who spend 10k more for such a car to talk about fuel efficiency=money is pretty unreasonable. As for qc, since proton merge with geely, their qc is on par if not better than perodua. But oh well it's your money.

P2' QC also not that great but at least less problems with them compared to P1. That being said, I'd still go with P1 between the 2.

I used to eyeing on Bezza before I get my first car, I did a review during test drive, One thing I would like to point out, it has poor in handling, with the dugong like body, small engine and small wheels, I can feel the body throwing especially driving around the corner. In comparison to Axia or its cousin, Toyota Wigo, it has better handling despite of small size. Unfortunately Brunei didnt planned to bring Perodua Axia in, instead I bought Toyota Wigo since its frame and its engine almost the same as Axia. so Its worth it
Definitely not Samsung though. It was never underrated, and not really value for money. Its a premium brand. If you wanna talk about underrated and value for money, then Oppo and Xiaomi should take the honor.
no doubt the price tag of the Perodua BezZa AV is a huge differents compare to its rivals, Proton Saga VVT Premium... but dont forget, the BezZa AV has alot of stuff compare to Saga Premium, other than being a little bit better to drive with... its actually doesnt feel premium with its name PREMIUM... no even has leather wrapped steering wheel, no leather seats, no electric folding exterior mirrors, still using halogen headlamps, no rear headrests which is a big let down on long Journey, still using hydraulic power steering despite BezZa are using Electric Power Steering which is a maintenance free, even the power windows switch for all the 4 doors... compare it between BezZa and Saga... u will know whats the differents, even its was small stuff but from there we can see... what are this both 2 manufacturer are doing... and most BezZa buyers will opt for the 1.3X premium auto variant at rm43k... but even the BezZa AV are rm10k differents, its on waiting list period... those who want more features, reliable and goOd after sales service... they dont mind paying more...
Great analysis! Definitely the Bezza has alot going for it - more fuel efficient, better features and low maintenance. But I will still pick the Saga because it's quieter and better to drive 😄
The cons are not too bad at all. Most of those can do aftermarket accessories. Bezza has the worst gearbox quality. It's a 4AT it's supposed to be durable af but it's too fragile to be broken. The fuel saving money goes to overhaul gearbox, stereng rack, expensive battery and expensive starter, Milo tin body sampan and ugly butt design. I'd rather maintain a timing belt and hydraulic steering than these expensive maintenance of the bezza. Saga is way better, a masterpiece by Proton
If its a tool than this Bezza is the tyres which u definitely dont expect your tyres to sing or cook for u, it gets u where u want to go in somewhat comfortable and no fuss manner of course it cost u more while the Sagas and Personas is like a used or recon ones while it may be the most nicests and grippy and sporty tyres around but u know its OLD even though it have 99% thread left
Even the brand new top spec saga is more comfortable and handles better than this Bezza (and cheaper by 10k) so if you are to choose your tool, I'd reckon you to choose the better one.

I tested my friend's Axia MT, the transmission and pedal clutch action feels like an arcade game compared to my Persona MT. I asked him is it because the car has been more than 2 years old, but he said it has been like that from day one.

Saga BLM ok ja keluarga ku pakai walaupun sdah lebih 9 tahun, aircond dia lebih sejuk berbanding Axia,Bezza dan handling tetap mantap walaupun x pernah tukar bushing hahahaha

The fuel saving money goes to overhaul gearbox, stereng rack, expensive battery and expensive starter, Milo tin body sampan and ugly butt design. I'd rather maintain a timing belt and hydraulic steering than these expensive maintenance of the bezza. Saga is way better, a masterpiece by Proton

If its a tool than this Bezza is the tyres which u definitely dont expect your tyres to sing or cook for u, it gets u where u want to go in somewhat comfortable and no fuss manner of course it cost u more while the Sagas and Personas is like a used or recon ones while it may be the most nicests and grippy and sporty tyres around but u know its OLD even though it have 99% thread left
Even the brand new top spec saga is more comfortable and handles better than this Bezza (and cheaper by 10k) so if you are to choose your tool, I'd reckon you to choose the better one.
If you talk about old, a 2010 Merc E class is better than a 2020 Bezza

Cheng Yi Choong bro, if looking for manual car better pick Iriz instead of Axia. I tested my friend's Axia MT, the transmission and pedal clutch action feels like an arcade game compared to my Persona MT. I asked him is it because the car has been more than 2 years old, but he said it has been like that from day one.

keluarga saya ada saga 2008 ok je. xda masalah, aircond hvac jauh jauh lebih baik drpd bezza. aku beli bezza 1st gen 2016 aircond mcm cibai dan adrian sendiri ckp solar tint langsung x membantu dan mungkin bermakna bab aircond perodua bezza tetap gagal pd 2020.
Saga BLM ok ja keluarga ku pakai walaupun sdah lebih 9 tahun, aircond dia lebih sejuk berbanding Axia,Bezza dan handling tetap mantap walaupun x pernah tukar bushing hahahaha
