Miedema wasn't 'playing well' in the months preceding her injury. I found it surprising pundits thought it was a good new role for her. I think it was obvious it wasnt a good role even then. Hopefully she finds a club that knows how to best use her talents.
This is such a great podcast! Keep these videos coming, we love this. Your insights are always great! Hope this podcast grows and grows. We need more people exposed to the women’s game and appreciate their work
Viv was not fitting into the way the Manager wants to play, but we struggle to break the low block, and that's where Viv would have been particularly strong once back to full fitness next year. As such Viv provided us with a different option which is always good and now the risk is we will be more one dimensional!
Agreed. Jonas thinks he's running Real Madrid or Man City mens, where there is so much budget and depth of talent that you can cast aside a top player who 'doesn't fit'. There remains a serious gap between players like Viv, Beth Mead, Bunny Shaw, Sam Kerr... and the players at the lower clubs. Viv is *very* likely to be replaced by someone with far less ability (if it is Stina, he's already done that). He is arrogant to suppose his 'system' will produce so many more chances as to allow an inferior player to equal Miedema, let alone improve the results.
Just thinking Fran kirby leaving chelsea, she got a proper send of Viv meidema didn't There send off for viv meidema was heartbreaking Very sad I think jonas eidwell was behind it
@@kizzyfarrell6156 the difference i see is arsenal players as well as their staff utterly broken Viv is cut from the team while Chelsea players was sad fran decided it's time she moved on from chelsea. Anyways...players come and go every year but Meidema has ubiquitously made hearts all over break. Even Brighton players And fans were emotional and paid their respect. Speaking of, Viv deserves to go to a place that value and respect her talents the way the world speaks about her. Hopefully she goes to chelsea, manchester is too far
This is what happens when you have access to too much talent, you end up disrespecting them all. This guy should be dismissed. The women's game deserves much better.
@@joyluke10 He should've gone last season , we keep winning games solely because of the talent we have. Pound for pound we have a better squad than Chelsea, should've have won the league this season
next season is make or break for Jonas I think: he'll have all the ACL players back and they may well buy someone to replace Viv (Mariona?) as well. they should do much better and if they don't I think he'll be sent on his way
I don't think Jonas cares too much about the present/legacy fans. Arsenal Women have their new home at Emirates and whilst I don't think it'll sell out every match, people will come especially Lionesses fans who will get to see Mead and Russo et al. I don't see the club extending Jonas' contract further unless the results start coming. We have not been a great team this season. Viv will be sorely missed by present and legacy fans and her teammates alike. Jonas has to be very careful now especially under the increased glare of being at the new home... I wonder if any other recent former players will come out and voice any issues with Jonas now Viv has...
Stina wastes *so* many good chances because of her limitations, and she brings little else. Yes, she's got a few recently but it's not nearly enough for championship aspirations.
Andries Jonker explained that Viv is not in the Dutch squad in may/june to work on being able to play 90 minutes. He is giving her this international window to work on that and is going to select her for the july window. That's also why he asked Lieke Martens to do this one last international window before retiring even though she wasn't planning on being there. But she'll be there one last time and then Viv will be back next window.
i keep hearing how could Jonas do this? you all know that Jonas has a boss right? Jonas doesnt own the team. it is in the realm of possibility that the owner didnt want to waste more money on an oft injured Viv. i know i know, the logic grates against all the unconditional love for Viv from the fans. come on people.
What was Jonas thinking!! A big loss to Arsenal. We'll miss you big time. ❤❤

Arsenal gutted when Viv goes. The opposite is Fran scoring her last goal and everyone wishing her the best.

If Man City sign Viv and they win the league, Jonas will look stupid
Too late , he's already stupid, you have to be if you let a world class player leave.

Very sad

They both played in the last game and both scored a goal. How was Viv not a proper send off?

@TV-sl2df watch fran kirby sent of and then watch viv one
See the different
She was forced out very 😔

@TV-sl2df oh chelsea please 🙏 my team
Great player
Best wishes
A big parcent of Arsenal fans have been against Jonas for the past 2 season

'not clinical in front of goal' - let's bring in another striker, oh yeah the top scorer of all time in the WSL is free... oh wait

What's your opinion of the Dutch report that came out on wed?
Hi. Could you give details of where to find this pls? I'm very interested. Thank you
It was on X yesterday or wednes I do have the English version but u can't attach it on here

Hello I saw the Dutch squad posted yesterday and didn’t see vivs name anywhere. Something is going on.

@@marianneoenema2363 hello thanks for clarifying that. Just want to see her back to her very best and happy in her new team wherever that will be.
Does look like something's going on.
There will be some mistrust among some players , but this has to be put aside as a team.
