@wavygr I love Rocky Top, but I've always been uncomfortable calling it a fight song. It was a recorded and licensed song, after all. I'm thinking if Florida played Molly Hatchet's "Gator Country" that might be cool, but would it be considered a fight song at that point?
Tennessee should definitely be higher. For one there’s words to the fight song and second, any opponent that comes to the stadium leaves knowing rocky top.
As an Ohio State undergrad in the 1970's, there was nothing like being at an OSU/Mich game where every good play or even just a first down was serenaded with a fight song from the bands. So it was a battle of fight songs. The memories come flooding back...

If Rocky Top was their actual fight song. I would say contender for top 3. And, where is Navy's "Anchors Away"? Possibly one of the greatest fight songs in CFB.

Tennessee's official fight song is actually "Here's to Old Tennessee," based on Yale's "Down the Field." The band started playing Rocky Top in 1972, and in 1982 it was listed as one of Tennessee's official state songs, but it's not the school fight song. "Down the Field" is played after every touchdown or field goal prior to Rocky Top, at least for now. Eventually, they'll probably stop playing all the old marches and just play Rocky Top.
