Me and my wife relocated to Uk in 2021 Feb after getting job under tire 2 visa. My wife got job in first month as electronic engineer as she was pursuing the very same for years back in dubai. After reaching Manchester uK, We bought our first home in 10 months. Only difficult situation was we had to give 25% deposit as we haven’t completed 2 yrs in uK even tho 1 have 5yrs job visa and my wife has dependent visa. Every bank we reached out said same and will not give more than 75% of total house price. Till then we lived in Manchester city center in a 1bhk house reducing our expense. There is nothing wrong in coming together with family if she or he has skill and working experience because it’s very easy to get job in uK.

Please approach different banks. No such rules
Exact same things happened to me also ,I contacted 3 different mortgage advisors and a private bank too.If you are in tier 2 visa, you need to complete 2years✌️that is the Rule.please don’t misguide people😂😂😂whatever this man (Mathew) telling is not true. I have been in the uk for 18 months,bank literally told me to apply once l complete 2 years ( that is after6 months). There is no special consideration for NHS nurses( I m a nurse working in NHS).👌
😂please clarify things before posting
When it comes to mortgages for visa holders, some lenders may require you to have a visa with a long expiry date. Ideally, a visa with more than 2.5 years is preferable and some lenders prefer you to have been living and working in the UK for several years before you apply for a mortgage.
That is not correct, the rule changed slightly in Jan 2022 that you need to put in 20% minimum deposit if you haven't been a resident of UK for at least min 3 years. Also you will have to put more money towards deposit even if you are getting help to buy scheme.
