I am so happy watching this series on Iran. It's a really "feel good" one. It's simple and uncomplicated. And the food: oh my gosh, looks so delicious that I was chewing and enjoying every bite. Honestly though, what did the dessert with lamb taste like? That's a strange combination for a dessert!!! Mr. Taster was his usual self, funny and so loveable. Great series so far. This Beryani looks the real deal. The only Beryani you can find here in England is a pile of 5h1t you can buy from Indian restaurants that bears absolutely no resemblance. Someday, somehow I will try the authentic Iranian one; it is definitely on my list. Thank you David and Mr Taster.

The mughals who came to India and didn't like any food they found here, asked their chefs (Indians) to make something special to excite them. The chefs used "jugaad" (Indian word for invent) and recreated a south Indian biryani suited for Mughal taste buds. Please learn some more before teaching an Indian about his/her own culture.

Fun fact: Biryani came to Indian Subcontinent from Iran & Mughals. They created the famous spicy biryani that’s known worldwide. Falooda, kabab , halwa , sohan halwa, haleem & many other Mughal dishes are all Iranian in origin & combined with the local spices of Pakistan/ India.
So interesting how neighboring countries are introduced to foods and make it their own. Makes for great cuisine. There is still a debate ranging from India all the way to Greece, as to who invented Dolma. What we do know is that the dish has evolved in different ways in different regions. We do know that the word is Turkic, but there is also a theory that the technique originated in India. Who knows? These cultures are too proud to give in. I personally liked the Persian version of it more than the other nations. It was so rich in taste.
I've travelled to a few countries and eaten lots of street food every time. I loved the people and cities and history of Iran, but unfortunately, I can't say that I liked the food. It was really a relief to get to Uzbekistan.
@@JudyT868 meat is just for the texture. You can't see it or taste it . The only thing you're going to taste is saffron flavor, sourness from yogurt and sweetness from honey. And nuts on top of it are just the chef kiss and they add nice crunch to it . Hope you could try it one day.

biriyani is originally iranian not indian, but in iran it was originally called Birinj which means polished rice or birian which means fried before cooking
