In this video, I would like to highlight the benefits of 3
G or triple gene cotton varieties which are also
known as glyphosate free or pink free cotton
varieties. Nearly all the varieties are performing well
in the cotton zone. All these varieties are best
especially in early cotton sowing. Actually it looks
early sowing favours cotton plant to perform well.
Therefore all the triple gene and other conventional
bt varieties give high yields in early sowing.
Cotton growers have to face three main challenges
while cultivating cotton crop;
1) Weeds
2) Whitefly
3) Pink bollworms
Out of these, two challenges can be addressed by
cultivating glyphosate free cotton varieties such as
FH 333, CS 200, CKC 6 et.
At the moment in Auqust, all bt varieties have been
badly infested by pink bollworms except pink free
cotton varieties. Weeds management is very easy in
these fields as well so I personally suggest triple gene
cultivars for sowing in cotton area.
