    You probably know that, but it's worth to mention, that you don't have to set automaticly time zone, to automaticlly set the actual time. In above egzample you recieved signal from 1 satellite (1-st attempt) and 5 satellites (2-nd attempt). To set time zone it's required to recieve signal from 4 satellites at least, but you need only 1 satellite to set the time, if you know what time zone you're in. To do so, set time zone manually, and then just push this button and hold it only until second hand reaches 12hour. After recieving signal from just 1 satellite it will set current time. It's faster, and require less energy.

    Great review, may I ask how big is the case? 43 mm? 44? I hope it is not a 45, that would over do it for my 6 3/4 inch wrist.

    Is there an easy way to set the AM/PM Sub Dial easily?

    So what does the utc +/- numbers on the dial mean?

    Any link? I find that in Amazon, but looks like a little different on Amazon. It is a total black one.

    Please make a video how to set astron watch and select a different time zone for dual time zone and am pm function

    • @vtechead1
      @vtechead1 2 роки тому

      To set the smaller dial to a different time, you pull the crown out two clicks and turn the crown till the time you want is set. Push the crown back in once set.
      To swap the different times from the large dial to the small dial, hold both top and bottom buttons in at the same time until you see the time changing, then release.
      To return to original dial repeat pressing both buttons as above instructions.
      To set the am or pm on the small dial, after pulling the crown out two clicks, turn the crown till you set the hour to what you want. ( say 4 pm ).If the am/ pm dial is showing am, keep turning the crown till you get round to 4 again and the dial should show pm. Hope this helps you to set your watch.

    Followed through to here from Watchuseek- great review! I have the Citizen Satellite Wave F150, I'm wearing it now, in fact. What are your thoughts on the Astron model you have vs. the F150? I think some immediate pros to the Astron are dual time and the use of titanium and ceramic, versus stainless steel and IP bezel on the F150. Any other comparisons you could make, good or bad, between the two?

    • @YoureTerrific
      @YoureTerrific  8 років тому +2

      Hey Mason, the F150 seems like a great watch. I didn't do much comparisons between these two watches because 1) I wanted a second time zone and 2) I preferred the look, materials, and finishing of the Astron (which costs dearly). From what I've read and seen the Citizen has some big advantages over the Astron, including sync time and price. I think a more appropriate comparison to the F150 is the time-only Astron, like the SSE085. Still titanium and more expensive, but with the same complications.

    • @masondelpino8118
      @masondelpino8118 8 років тому +1

      You're Terrific Good points, thanks! What is the average sync time of the Astron? My F150 takes around 5 seconds to get the time info, usually.

    • @YoureTerrific
      @YoureTerrific  8 років тому +1

      It depends on what I'm sync'ing with the satellites. The first is basically sync'ing just the seconds. That takes about 5-10 seconds. The other sync'ing option is to request your location and change the time zone automatically according to your location. That can take 30-60 seconds.

    • @craik7
      @craik7 7 років тому +4

      1) overall finishing on the Astron is way better.
      2) titanium is lighter
      3) Astron is a little bigger and thicker but you don't feel it much cause the watch is light being titanium.
      4) the f150 is +-5 accuracy while the astron is +-15 per month without GPS signal
      5) f150 is much faster when ricieving signal
      6) f150 is thinner but a little heavier.
      7) both fantastic watches. If you favor function over design and looks go for the f150. if you favor design and looks over function go for the astron. simple as that really.

    Hi. On the upper left circle what are the 1 and 4 stand for?

  • @niceguy100000

    Can this one also not set DST automatically? That lessens the usefulness of the large database which has to accurately trace the shape of all the time zone borders on earth.

    • @drab2000
      @drab2000 7 років тому

      DST is a weird invention, which has nothing to do with time zone. For instance some countries may be in the same time zone, but one of them have DST, and second doesn't. That information is not provided by GPS system.

    Is the dial blue? I thought the SSE045 has a black dial....

    • @YoureTerrific
      @YoureTerrific  7 років тому +1

      Most Astron dials look like this (except the white one). They're listed as black, but are actually a dark purple. This is because the dial is basically a solar panel.

    • @roystonrogers5715
      @roystonrogers5715 7 років тому

      Komma2025 41 is blue

    • @nightknight9415
      @nightknight9415 5 років тому

      This is the blue version, the black is far better. It's not dark purple as "YoureTerrific" suggested, it's actually the darkest black possible...the solar panel is underneath the perfectly midnight black face.

    Can you here the ticking sound on this watch, is it similar to quartz?

    • @nightknight9415
      @nightknight9415 5 років тому +1

      It's completely silent. Have 10 of these timepieces, if you can hear any ticking sound with yours, then it's not working properly. MicroAngelo has obviously never owned one as the spring drive isn't the only silent movement from Seiko.

    • @MicroAngelo1
      @MicroAngelo1 5 років тому

      It does "tic" every second and a double "tic" every 10th of a second when the minute hand advances. Only Seiko's incredible spring drive is completely silent.

  • @JayKay-ht8rg
    @JayKay-ht8rg 7 років тому +2

    No sweeping seconds hand!! UNBELIEVABLE!! What a wasted opportunity.

    • @YoureTerrific
      @YoureTerrific  7 років тому +3

      Jas K Sweeping seconds hands require a lot of energy which is why it's so rare in quartz watches. As a result I don't think there exists a light-powered watch with a sweeping seconds.

    • @JayKay-ht8rg
      @JayKay-ht8rg 7 років тому

      You're Terrific: I understand that. I love my automatics. In fact it was the Seiko 5's that actually started that off! Lol
      It's a shame really. As Bulova have managed to it (albeit not with a solar powered watch) I was hoping Seiko would pull something out of the hat.
      I'd love this watch but with one of their Spring Drive movements powering it.
      Now that'd be nice!
      Great review by the way. Top job.

    • @YoureTerrific

      Thanks. A GPS Spring Drive? That would be the pinnacle of modern horological technology. I'd love it. I wonder if it's possible.

  • @MicroAngelo1

    Only downside for this incredible watch is the DST is set manually, Citizen and Casio GPS controlled watches however set DST automatically.
