Bear in mind, they're almost considered the spokesmen for that message. They've managed to take it further than most other bands. What I personally see, and many other fans, is their confidence. It comes across as arrogance when they say things like "But we won, so suck it." and whatnot but, if you really think about it they're simply defending themselves before they get attacked. And no, that's not really what they stand for either. I think it's more about how "fitting in" doesn't do so either.

seeing all these comments about the line "your worthless god' has just made me think. I've always believed Chris wasn't referring purely to god being worthless but to repulsive people that use god as a excuse to be horrible. As in you claim your religious when you're actually just a cretin therefore the god you supposedly worship and follow is worthless if that makes any sense...but hey that's just my opinion.

Honestly, I really like this song and I definitely agree with the lyrics (for the most part) even though I am a Christian and go go church regularly. It's all about letting people believe what they want and be themselves and not let other people get in their way.

Okay I don't know about you all, but I think that MIW was not calling God worthless. Just their messed up version of Him. One of the posters in the video said "Jesus Hates You" and from what I was always taught Jesus and God never would be able to Hate anyone. (The Devil himself used to be an angel before he went his own way and fell from Heaven. And God still doesn't hate him.)
Christians make those signs, they're used for everything. Especially for Gay Pride stuff. MIW was didn't have a "messed up version" of him, His radical followers are the ones with the messed up version. MIW is calling the Radicals' version worthless, because what kind of a god is gonna make you how he wants you to be and then hate you for it?

Bear in mind, they're almost considered the spokesmen for that message. They've managed to take it further than most other bands. What I personally see, and many other fans, is their confidence. It comes across as arrogance when they say things like "But we won, so suck it." and whatnot but, if you really think about it they're simply defending themselves before they get attacked. And no, that's not really what they stand for either. I think it's more about how "fitting in" doesn't do so either.
I'm not a huge fan of screamo but I love how Motionless in White is so real and just doesn't give a fuck, they're the perfect mix between actual singing and screamo. I could never enjoy BMTH songs because it's too much screamo, but I love this!

I'm a Christian and when I first listened to song I wasn't that sure and kind of scared about it and uncomfortable but when I started listening to more songs by them I really liked and understood what they were singing about and then when I came back to this song and read the lyrics and understood it more I like this song, he is basically yelling at all the people that are judging him and are being hypocrites and there are tons of people like that in the world and I would be saying the same thing back at those people I may have not built this place but I'm going to protect it from judgemental hypocritical people like you and others that judge people just because they look a certain way.

So when the lyric "your worthless God" comes up, I wanna say that he's referring to a bigot's version of what God is. Cuz my God ain't that one. Feel me? I love motionless in white am I a Christian/messianic Jew don't know how to say it correctly or whatever, I'm not gonna buy the song because I feel uncomfortable when he calls god worthless but I'm not gonna get all pissy and say they're evil and shit. I know he's talking about the god all these so called religious people are worshipping, who apparently hates everyone who isn't worshipping him. I feel like so many people these days are using religion not as a gift and a great thing but something to condemn others with and shove down others throats.
