Tekken 4 was something special, the stages, the music, some of the outfits, and this here Yoshimitsu. This was definitely high up there as one of my favorites with T3. T8 looks like they're actually making him look similar to his T3 design and that's a bonus. Love your vids and the Hara-kiri spin is a bonus, a definite rub it in your opponents face they lost experience.
Totally agree. Really wish Namco designers would go for the mechanical undead ninja design for his costume in the next installment, instead of the weird alien looking design. Namco should put all his old costumes in Tekken 7 as DLC.

I don't know why most of the outfits of this game has been eliminated in other tekken. Very long haired hwoarang in TKD uniform > standard hwoarang in TKD uniform. Also G2 military hwoarang is awesome with that hairs. Also Yoshimitsu is awesome. I love Paul with flowing hairs physics. Hooded Jin is a pearl that they continue to use in Jin design nowadays

Well there is a way you can play him! Honestly haven't seen a lot of this stuff before, very creative in the right hands (or even if tool assisted)! I wish they made good use of him in the movie!
leonard villiers In Tekken 4 only, Yoshimitsu can copy certain moves from other characters. This can be done by using Soul Stealer (Square + O). If his sword changes to a red color, do Soul Stealer again, and he will perform the copied move. Note that he can only copy certain moves and cannot copy his own, and to copy a move, the player will have to time it with the move that your opponent has performed.
I feel like T4 is a mega outlier in this series. I never got to play it, but it just seems like this was an entirely different development team and they decided they wanted to push the boundaries of what the franchise had been so far. Like they really poured their ideas into this one.
I mean, everyone going on about Soul Stealer and wanting it back is right, of course. But does nobody else miss that move 7:50 ? It just looks so... nice. I only started playing Yoshi in 7, so I am somewhat sad I can't just boop them with my sword tip...
I miss that move! It was so hilariously pointless, but I always tried to see if I could get away with using it at least once a match. They took it out in Tekken 6 IIRC.
Personal Head Canon: @7:10 Yoshimitsu gives her a vision of what he's trying to accomplish(Stopping/Robbing Heihachi). That way she won't feel bad about losing.
Does anyone actually prefer the low parry system from TTT and T4? As in, when you low parry successfully you get huge frame advantage instead of putting the opponent in a bound. In TTT it was possible to get guaranteed twin piston after low parry with Heihachi, so it has to give at least +13. It was probably a good thing that low parries don't lead to full combos though. Might want to keep that part of the change.
There's got to be a glimmer of fear amd confusion to go into a martial arts tournament, and coming face to face with a sword wielding armor clad opponent like Yoshimitsu
