Daily Mail's war games? I wouldn't give much credibility to that. I've seen other scenarios and it's really all just speculation. In war there are lots of surprises and the Chinese and United States military have no doubt got surprises up their sleeves. I think that if they are going to invade they will probably do it in October due to weather related factors, because the USA will be approaching an elections season (war time propaganda would have to compete with election coverage) and because we will highly likely be approaching a transition of leadership. I seriously doubt that the USA would go to war (unless China did attack USA territory or regional allies) and any proxy war would be short lived. What we would likely see is a boat load of sanctions which would trigger a massive return of inflation coupled with a recession. As far as the "long game" is concerned, Xi Jinping is a cult of personality style of dictator and sees it as imperative that reunification takes place on his watch. I am personally not celebrating the rise of China as a superpower. Yes, they are opposing the western globalists who I'm definitely not fond of. But the enemy of your enemy is not always your friend...and a communist dictatorship like China is no one's friend. I would much rather see China's power fade and for that power to instead be distributed among various other peaceful nations in the region.
