Originally bought the trident 2 for my BRC 2 advanced skills course and ended up laying down a rebel 300 twice on 2 diff maneuvers. The trident 2 did their job and they were very comfortable. I didn’t know that about the covec keeping you cool or warm. I can vouch for that though because i took my course when it was around 80 degrees outside (NY). I had on the Furygan Brad Kevlar hoody and i also had on the trident 2’s. I was comfortable for sure especially w/ the jeans. They’re breathable. Unfortunately the Brad hoody isn’t breathable when you’re stopped, but so long as you’re moving, you’re fine. I only returned the tridents b/c the inseam was larger then mine. Cyclegear didn’t have an inseam of 30, but i happened to find the Icon 2 Easy in my size and in a short i think, so fingers crossed they work for me. I’ve been finding that the knees sit too low on them for me. I may have to get a tailor to bring them up. They’re so comfortable.
If you wear boots do you tuck your jeans into the boot or wear them over the boot? Mine are regular fit and are tight over my boots so I do wonder if the slim fit jeans would stretch over my boots.
Covec might be considered better than Kevlar in the specific context of abrasion resistance during a slide on the road because of its engineered properties to avoid melting and transferring heat to the skin.

Is covec better than Kevlar for abrasion resistant? in that it wont melt to your skin skidding down the road?
