Oh my God, the nostalgia!! This brings me back to my childhood. I feel like I'm sitting next to my kid self while smiling and appreciating those moments! :) Almost put a tear in my eye lol
4:25 For some weird reason, I always liked these kinds of bumpers. Not because there's just silence (no music), but has a good rotating block of shows up next and after that. Seems legit.
Now Toonami is like just look at the TV Guide. But it’s like uh the TV Guide existed back then and I honestly trust what Toonami says what the schedule is over the TV Guide. Toonami even currently stopped making those lineup promos.
Still remember when I started watching Toonami. It was a little before DBZ joined the lineup, so it was: Sailor Moon, Robotech, Voltron, and Johnny Quest if I’m not mistaken. Only ever really watched Sailor Moon and Voltron lol. Then DBZ joined the fray and I was instantly hooked. I did see a few Namek episodes on KCAL9 I believe before the show was on Toonami. Reboot and Robin Warriors came along the way so I pretty much watched all two hours of Toonami hehe. For me my peak was in 2000 when Toonami was given an extra hour and Sailor Moon and DBZ started airing new episodes. It was nice to see such a diverse schedule even if some shows were just reruns. It never felt the same when Sailor Moon got taken off the block and the mostly showed DB and DBZ back to back. By the way Slim what’s the theme playing at 8:53? I remember it was used for the Sailor Moon commercial bumpers.
I.... Think this was the Toonami lineup that was on when I was a kid? Pretty sure Cowboy Bebop, Yu Yu Hakasho and Hamtaro were on too. Somewhere around 2001-2003. Anyone remember that lineup?
@@SlimD716 Cowboy Bebop did aired for the Toonami midnight run on weekdays and then later for the Toonami Adult Swim on weekends. I recall watching them and seeing the commercial promos back in 2001-2003.
I like the original Toonami a lot better than the Adult Swim version of Toonami. Back then, Toonami was great. Toonami had some really great English-dubbed Animes including Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z and so many more. Right now on today's Toonami (The Adult Swim version), you got Dragon Ball Z Kai, One-Punch Man and other stupid crap. Adult Swim version or not, it's better than watching Family Guy, American Dad, The Cleveland Show, Robot Chicken and other stupid shows. The only shows I like watching on Adult Swim are King of the Hill reruns.
I don't know if he has a youtube channel or not. I contacted him through another website from where I got his collection. Thanks to DuelistG for telling me about the location.
I hated it when they started milking the hell out of DBZ. I would watch OG Gundam and that's it. Then when it was 2 hours of Cardcaptors and DBZ, that's when I left for a while.
Cardcaptors was only 1 hour and half an hour but yeah Toonami is always going to milk DBZ and DB Super especially when Toonami started airing the Androids and Cell Saga. I liked it when they added Cardcaptors but since Toonami was Weekdays back then, it was like 15-20 episodes of DBZ a week for being on for an hour in the daytime plus the Midnight Run and The Rising Sun. I kind of wished the Midnight Run would at least change things up some. Back then you could probably recite the dialogue if you watched DBZ while they had the rights to the Androids saga every time it came on.
All of the DBZ ones... I nearly cried. This was my 4th grade up until sometime in middle school. So nostalgic!
0:46 I still remember this song from almost 20 years ago. I haven't heard it since, but it recurs in my mind every once in a while. Such a classic.
I think we got a winner for the best collection of toonami from the past of all time
I remember these like it was yesterday.

Forgot how much I miss Peter Cullen.
Loved Toonami. I still remember running home from school and making it just in time to catch Reboot. Those were the days.
its good adult swim brought back toonami but i wish boomerang would air a classic toonami block aswell because cartoon network is never going to do it
just watch them online
So many fantastic shows from that era
Good times
And now back to Dragon Ball Z.
Tenchi in Tokyo and Universe
All the collection is here rolling in 1. This is the best.
Yes it is
Never forget it
It really does bring the good times
That's true
I do like the bumpers that had "The Intruder" with the siding of DBZ with it, that's a nice touch
Sailor Moon and Dragon Ball Z rocked both the dragon and the moonlight.
great compilation of past Toonami bumpers and lineups.
Always remember the good times
