We share our travel tips, packing guides, videos, and photography from around the world! We’ll see you on our next GETAWAY!
The highlight for me would have been the food stop Taylor picked. It all looked delicious. I agree that the fashion show/ sales push was weird as well as the rug sales push 😂. Thank you for taking us along.
This was a very beneficial video. Thank you very much for making it. It helped us.
We have a silk rug in our entry hall from Kusadasi. Cost $800. Still like it. Have had it over 15 years. They shipped to our house. They continued to call for many years later when they were in the Los Angeles area saying they wanted to come see the rug in our home. No doubt they came with additional rugs to sell. I declined.
Adding they use burner phones so hard to block.
amazing presentation in this video. great work!
Thank you kindly! Glad you enjoyed it!
Excellent video 👍
Ephesus was fantastic on our excursion. Not on Norwegian, but private.
Yes, I saw that hard sell at the carpet place a few minutes before the onslaught….waited by the door with our travel mates who left during the invasion
Exact same factories and same sales I was been there on Feb. it was 7 cities bus tour. It is sort of hard sale in whatever the tours in Turkey.
Hi Josh and Taylor good morning happy Thursday morning and I loved your vlogs and you all amazing Supporter
Amazing!
It would scare me to be in enclosed room with all those sale folks and no immediate exit. But yes, you do need to get out and explore and see the country you are visiting.
Have you tried the hop on hop off bus, much better. Good luck with your trip
Not yet but thank you!
Hi! We are doing the MSC Music in September and we bought the package to go to Ephesus, and I just saw the issue here. I also wouldn't like to go through the carpet situation. I have a question: is the store already in Kusadasi or is it "outside" next to Ephesus?
I want to skip this part but I also wouldn't like to miss the bus back to Kusadasi if it is next to Ephesus.
What camera is used to Vlog this? The quality is amazing!! Also I wish I could travel with you both, can we do a subscribers trip 🤣
It’s combo of GoPro, Sony A1 and our iPhones. Absolutely you can join us! We do group cruises every year!
Almost all excursions have a "shopping trip" and NONE of them are worth it. I skip all of them. It's just like the hotel resorts time shares conferences.....a waste of time.
I've been to Ephesus on my own during my Turkey trip that lasted about 2 months. Places like that it's best to do your own tour, but unfortunately the port hours are short so it's important to have a scheduled ride. You don't need a guide, just a good guidebook with photos of everything that you saw. I'm going back next year on a MSC cruise ship because I didn't get to see everything because so many cruise passengers were in my way and I wasn't even on a cruise. Thanks for your review. And basically, everywhere in Turkey has aggressive shop keepers but the best place to go is Cappadocia.
No shops at all on private tour! Mother Mary's house and other wonderful stops including the Cliff Houses!
We’ve been finding that private is definitely the way to go!
Why u dont go to beach???
I wonder how keeping people hostage is working for that establishment. No thanks
Seems to still be working. All the cruises send their people through them. And believe it or not. We saw people buying stuff 😬
Gucci etc, it's all knock off copies as there is no brand copyright regulations in Turkey, All the extra places ie shops they take you too are owned by family of the tour opperator or guides. If you thought it was a hard sell tour wait until you go to Egypt. sales people can and do get aggresive. You also have to haggle the asking prices which is also part of the buy culture which can takes ages to get down the price.
Is there an option when you get the leather factory to not bother going in? Could we choose to stay outside?
Is the carpet factory one back at the port so we can also opt out of doing that of we chose?
We’d suggest you just stay on the bus if you’re looking to avoid the factory.
@@travelwithjoshandtaylor Thanks! For the carpet one, is it the carpet place back near the port? Then can we just leave the group and wander the port area and head back to the ship on our own.
No sticker for Josh and wow that is sad how they trap you and I like doing authentic stuff on trips too.
No stickers 😭 yeah it was really weird how they tried to trap us in there! Hopefully others will know for their trip what to expect!
@@travelwithjoshandtaylor very well done with the video
What month did you visit? Thanks!
May 2023
@@travelwithjoshandtaylor I will be there in January!
Hi
I am glad we skip both leather and carpet places for Ephesus tour from Kusadasi Port, driver asked us if we would like to visit those places, we said NO, private tour is helpful, you are not going with the flow.
That’s great! Glad you had a better time than we did and were able to skip those locations!
