I need to know how many chains I make to start the foundation. How many spiders will I have. What do I repeat over and over to make this beautiful pattern. I am a beginner and I need some help. Hello, the number of chains you need will depend on the kind of yarn you are using. To find out the number of chains you need to make, first make a sample peice. in this sample you will need to make 2 repeats of the spiders length wise and width wise. once you make this sample note down how many chains inches this sample gave you. for e.g., if the sample measured 5 inches in width and 3 inches in length, and you used x number of chains to make these 2 spiders, then extrapolate these numbers to find out the measurements for 15/33 inch runner.

it looks more like a spider than cobweb. I learned some of this from my friend when I was living in Germany but I had forgotten how to do it again. I would love to make a curtain for my new house. Thanks for this video.

Hi, Yh, my count says 53 but its safe to go with 54, you can always remove extra chains, but before starting a bigger project with a new stitch its good practice to work on the stitch and practice it with less number of repeats so that you are comfortable and understand the stitch very well !
