- My new grinder is here! I got the J-Ultra hand grinder from 1Zpresso! It’s an awesome espresso focus grinder for $200 that has amazing espresso quality for all roast types that my current grinder just can’t do!
In this video we unbox it, calibrate it, and dial in a light roast from Good Brothers Coffee “Peach Sunrise” Peach and Wine Yeast Co-Ferment

I love a good manual grinder! Super cool 👍🏽☕️👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽😎
It’s my first manual grinder that’s of high quality but it makes great espresso! Highly recommended!
@@GuccioSaltarellii have a built in grinder (sage barista touch), thinking of getting a new grinder.. (in Europe).. eureka mignon lineup maybe.
Alternatively there is this solution, how do you use them now? Electric or manual ? Both ?
A manual grinder would be able to store it, cheaper than a eureka, but takes more effort.
I think I’m a dark roar kind of a person, have been able to dail in fresh beans yet :(
@@zwich I use my manual grinder for lighter roasts because my electric grinder doesn’t do a great job with it. The grinders are around the same price but the quality of the manual grinder is much higher but not nearly as convenient. I think my electric grinder is great for dark roasts and good for medium roasts but not good for lighter roasts or medium light. Hope this helps!
Entiendo que el molino es muy bueno para espresso; pero que tan difícil es moler el cafe ?
What setting are you using for espresso? .9 thats just below the 1 rotation?
Perfect❤
I like your gear
Economic but reliable
I try to get what I can without breaking the bank
@4:53 exhausted of grinding 😮
goodjob❤
Maybe it's jus tme but do you find your speed and pauses in your hand cranking effect the shot time?
Great❤
Please, please tell me, is it possible to grind on the J-Ultra for filter coffee (Pour Over, etc.)? Or is this grinder only for espresso and has no grind settings for filter coffee at all?
It can do Pour Over, but it won't be very good. I cheap only filter grinder will be better at it
I know this was posted a while ago but I have been kinda looking at that espresso machine. I have the Bambino plus and want to upgrade to something with PID. How are you liking it?
Still crickets...
try calibrate it to 0 first. you way out from 0. than you can get the right dial everytime
You didn't calibrate it. Need to have it not turn at 0
WRONG! Check out the instruction from 1ZPresso.
"We define it to be at the point when you feel resistance while turning the crank handle instead of the tightest of the adjustment dial."
Really no need for RDT with this grinder.
How hard was it to grind. Annoying for daily morning use?
i have a j ultra like in the video and it’s not hard at all. if you are doing more than 3 shots back to back maybe, but otherwise it’s just a moderate level of resistance.
What??? RDT in that grinder.. Really??? Totally not necessary. 😅😂
Not at all. Of course the lighter the roast the tougher the grind. Darker is quicker as the beans are more brittle and not as tough as light. But once one gets a spinning rhythm it's quickly done. This chap was being a bit kak-handed and being too slow. I do mine in about 35-45s every time. With manual grinders I feel you pay for the burs and not all the motor parts of an elec. As they say if one was doing back to back espressos for a large dinner party its a bit dull but honestly. But I get the grinding done in the fist instance into containers and then go from there rather than 1 at a time. Still prefer this over an elec counter top one as I don't want the clutter visible in my kitchen 24/7. I am a manual grinder fan but each to their own. The J-Ultra is an incredible 'bang for tour buck' if espresso is your thing only. If you need a wider range look at the K-Ultra (but more money)
