I'm only 6 min in and already so annoyed. First, the businesswoman is hiring the surrogate to create a being that will need an immense amount of empathy. Therefore, she should at least make the effort to show she has some empathy, or the surrogate might question if the resulting child would be safe to be raised by the businesswoman. If the businesswoman wanted no interaction with the surrogate, then she could just adopt (or foster) and that should get her mother to back off (until the next criticism can be found). If a non-bio child isn't enough to satisfy the business lady's mother, then the business lady should tell her mother she: should have had another child, bug her siblings for babies instead, be satisfied with her existing grandchildren, or get a life now that she's too old to make and raise babies. Second issue I have so far: why would anyone need to take 9 months off work BEFORE the baby is BORN unless this was a high risk pregnancy? Shouldn't the 9 months be AFTER the baby is born and no longer attached for its survival needs, but still needing someone's constant care for survival? Third issue: The doctor discussing another patient in front of a patient? Did he WANT her to overhear? If he did, then the situation could be cute, if still a bit unethical. He has 2 patients, one requires a kid while the other requires money, the one requiring money is perfectly healthy to carry a kid. He could have intentionally matched the two, or at least secretly call his work phone so he could pretend he wasn't telling the potential surrogate about the opportunity. Maybe he could find a doctor friend to be the sperm donor. Or as he goes about his business he could randomly start talking about rich women needing a sperm donor, and hope a respectable person not only overhears but volunteers as he did with the surrogate.

Wouldn't that just be a lesbian version of Baby Mama starring Tina Fey and Amy Poelher?
