Sounds like something got buggered with your install, then.
If you have a valid install of the game w/no issues, installing UE4SS should be unnoticeable, hence why I point out checking for the .log file to see if it worked.
AFAIK crashing would only be if you did NOT change bUseUObjectArrayCache from True to False in the settings, or you have a damaged/corrupted install of either Palworld or UE4SS.

If installed correctly, you shouldn't even notice that UE4SS is installed. My guesses would be:
      1) Incorrect installation (extremely common; I've walked people through the steps and they'll still put the files in the wrong place) - go through and confirm the file locations and settings are all correct; compare to my file structure in the video. Rememeber it's \Palworld\Pal not \Palworld\Engine
      2) Another mod (*many* are broken right now due to Palworld's recent updates) - remove all mods and add them in bit-by-bit until the problem returns, then you know what caused it
      3) Some sort of issue with your Palworld installation - uninstall, delete anything left in folders, reinstall
The only mods I have ever installed are UE4SS / UniPalUI / Altermatic & PSC.
I haven't noticed *any* impact on my game aside from a few seconds extra load time when opening a world w/PSC animations installed for the video guide / testing. That was noticeable to me, but once loaded there was no (noticeable to me) difference in performance compared to an unmodded game.
I built my PC in 2016 and haven't done anything other than add storage since, so it's not like I'm running on overpowered hardware. If the game were freezing regularly I would definitely notice it.
If UE4SS was installed correctly and is somehow the problem [it isn't], you can just delete the files and it's gone.
Edit: If the freeze is somewhat consistent, it could be triggered along with Palworld's autosave. Again, could be a mod or installation problem.

My file when downloaded doesn't show all those files. It only shows FName_Constructor.lua. I'm so confused lol

I only see FName_Constructor.lua in the CustomGameConfigs. That is not what you want to download.
You want UE4SS_v3. 0. 1. zip - the file I clicked to download in the video. Check from 1:00.
Edit: added spaces so the filename didn't become a weird link.
