I picked up the Beyer 770s as well. I almost pulled the trigger on the 775s that have vented ear cups but I was concerned of audio spill into microphones when recording podcasts. I’m happy with my purchase.
Oh, beautiful Brolls to start with, then those examples of bad mixing results... So well done! My studio headphones are a pair of Status Audio CB-1. They're "closed back studio monitors" type that cost only $59 and I like them as much as my old and trustworthy AKG K-240 that I've had since the 90's, and these are the "open back" type meaning that they'll leak to the room... The difference is also that the Status Audio are 32 Ohm sensitive while the AKG really need a good headphone preamp (600Ohm), to add to your fine explanation in the video. But it's good to have both and it's good to cross-listen sometimes.
I settled on the 770’s because they were the most comfortable for me. 600 ohm wow power hungry for sure! It also shows the power of buying good equipment. It lasts and lasts and lasts! Thanks Mac it’s good to be making videos again.
Hi - I need a small foldable design for monitoring my DSLR audio when on location. I use wired eyeplug designed ones at the moment but wonder if thay are cutting out external nouse enough
This was a big aha moment for me. I’m usually editing on my Sony XM5 wirred or AirPods Pro, and then listent on MacBook’s speakers. Perhaps I should get one of those unexpensive monitors.
£30/euros - AKG K52s - see reviews. Price to quality ratio is off the charts. Need a 2nd pair? If I were going to spend money on headphones, I'd get another pair of Grados🥰
Sweet sound, I’ve never been able to get Bluetooth to be in perfect sync - the AirPod max does some magic to line it up nicely. Nice to hear from you Kelly!

Sony MDR's are not good editing headphones- don't really understand why people put them on their list. They are not accurate.
there is no perfect sound a good set of headphones is a defo no need for soo called branded headphones
