He might've not meant to but he did. Sure he doesn't properly understand human relationships but his cruelty and holding her captive can't be ignored just because he's the hero.
They are both toxic he only caged her to protect her. Also she stabbed him to protect him as well so both are toxic

Honestly, i've watched this hundreds of times. Yet i still cried each time.. It's how good the actor/actress did their crafts, how awesome the storyline n production. Good stories n productions would be nothing without these talents. My best trios JiYunhe, ChangYi & Luoluo ❤️❤️❤️

It hurts even more if you imagine your partner passing and it feels utterly helpless....but I love Dilraba as an actor. She always remind me of partner in life and she act the same way of how she does. The way she is devious smart and only letting me know what I need to know. Really humorous and clever way to use reverse psychology to get me into a trap of endless conversation. Even if at some point I'll eventually get some news that far too late before she get herself into trouble from time to time. I love her anyways giving her own freedom and as well I am always vigilant over. I want to protect her with my life just as much as the protagonist male lead Merman(Chang Yi) in this story. I feel me and Chang Yi are similar individuals because we are very stern and serious in a relationship. Sometimes it is overbearing and stressful as lover who love too serious that sometime it eventually hurt our own heart. At times cold and bitter because we are not the typical guy who is willing to open to any priority about women because knowing that we are too sensitive. Love this drama because it remind me and my partner right now. Always sacrificing 100% of our input fixing each others stressful path that we have to tolerate. Even if I worried to much about her or she thought too much about me throughout the days gone. Even life destiny was to swap death to takes its toll. I would sacrifice my graceful spirit to sunder the darkness to keep her happy. Because never in my life I have ever sacrifice entirely for someone in my life because I was torment with the wrath within my heart until I met her. I rather value her smile far than my destructive heart that maybe it bloom blessing over her path in reassurance.
How can a man be this beautiful like à woman? Allen is a handsome guy. Despite being married, he is a superlative actor any day
I finished this drama recently. It was good, just tragic in many parts. I didn't find this death sad as she comes back. However, Luo Luo broke my heart.

I'm sorry, but I can't feel bad for him. He was an asshole to her. Yes, granted he had a reason but he should have just tried to listen to her and others when they explain why she did what she did it. Instead he was stubborn and became abusive, caging her and restricting her freedom when he knew that was all she wanted. At least he learned his lesson later on... but in this scene I don't feel for him...
I understand what you're saying. Remember he was still new to the ways of "man". In the sea, people didn't lie or deceive. It explained earlier in the season that mer-people with broken hearts are hard to mend. He was hurt and petty. She told him she took her love back and he wanted her near and close so she would accept him again. He didn't hate her, he wanted to keep her and protect her. One thing he said accurately was that her life outside of his protection was in danger. The fox clan wanted her dead because they're idiots and Shande wanted her dead because she's a raving lunatic. If she had left Chang yi, she wouldn't have lasted long sickness or not. Lou Lou was right that they both were stubborn and silly. A conversation full honesty would have fixed the issue just like that.
