I disagree. I’m a casual rap fan, but when I heard Kendrick, I took a deep dive to figure out what he was talking about and I listened to the track multiple times to get it.
Lets be real, Drake makes rap music for teens and casual rap fans. Kendrick makes music with purpose and for the culture. Drake fans are so used to having lines spoonfed to them off of extremely catchy bars, that they legit lack the ability or want to dig deeper to peel back layers. The arrogance I have some from some ignorant ah people has been disheartening, but its reinforced what I already believed. Which is most Drake fans are simply that,, Drake fans. They don't care or have any sort of connection to hip hop and its culture. I feel like its the same fanbase Eminem has, though Em is for sure more respected as an MC and paying homage. But most Eminem fans don't listen to rap like that. They just like Em. And both of their fanbases will be overrepresented online. Kendrick represents the culture, Drake mimics the culture. Kendrick was raised in that culture. Drake is just cosplaying, and playing an acting role. At this point they are not even comparable.
He wasn’t going to spoon feed the lyrics to us just because it’s a diss track. This man always have so many layers in his music it’s just crazy how so much was said in this song without being too in your face but not discreet either
I'm so glad they broke this down. People were trying to call Kendrick's diss weak, because they don't actually respect HIP HOP and rap in its truest form. They just Drizzy meat glazers. Kendrick disrespected him in every way 😭

But she said multiple times she wish she could back up j.cole no biased here
I wonder how she will feel about Game & Wack siding with drake😆
Wack even said drake won 😂😆
@@Jerzey3 wack we don't care about but game....that was a let down but not the biggest gut punch if snoop woulda sided with drake then that would of been like woahhhh wtf lol but game...ehh...its whatever lol game can get it too lol
Kendrick referenced DMX quotes about drake on the breakfast club
He definitely missed a couple parts like the Ghost and AI line 😂 but close enough
You right Dee, the Parkinson bar is more about J Prince than it was about Birdman. Maybe a triple entendre, but I def think its more aimed at J Prince
This is visually appealing to see
I think it’s interesting how ppl view songs like this. Bc there’s the perspective that it’s great bc there’s all these hidden references, but I think you could argue that if they’re hidden, what’s the point? Like you almost have to be a Drake stan just to know wtf he’s talking about. It gets very nerdy lol, but I can understand why ppl like it.
These are near surface level, it just still goes over peoples head so they call it mid. Kendrick can go a lot deeper than this but he chose to be more surface level because he KNOWS who Drake’s fans are “You make music that pacify em” babies.
Dee , please react to a video called Normani Prank Calls Her Boyfriend, Ciara & Gunna | Phoning It In | ELLE . It shows more of Normani's personality and it is a funny and cute video.
I really might have to pay for the patreon 😅😅
like that was never a throw away Kendrick is talking about his verse.
Also he missed something….
When Kendrick goes,
“ I like Drake with the melodies, I dont like Drake when hes acting tough.
Dont make a nigga bring back Puff, let me see if Chubbs really crash something”
Obviously he caught the Diddy part but the Chubbs part is crucial. Chubbs is Drake’s main muscle. He raps about Chubbs all the time and brags about how street and intimidating Chubbs is and hes always with Drake.
Kendrick is saying, if your mans is so tough where was he when Diddy slapped the shit out of you? Ill bring back Puff and see what Chubbs is actually crashing on.
Facts they don't want no smoke wit Kendrick
Patrick was using Wayne and Weeknd as examples of Drake on stage hugging and kissing
Kendrick mentions new ho king in the Toronto accent which also where drake got robbed. ALSO they played this diss on the news in Canada which is hilarious 😂
This was a way better breakdown than whatever the hell that guy Patrick had yesterday.
