Thanks Man your post save me I was very worried. But on your post I saw somewhere that if your rear window is also open and you forget to notice it , you will think that your boot door does not work , open.
I found that the rear boot window was open , a nut had come loose from the top and stuck between the window and did not allow the window to close. I redone the nut , shut the window and then the boot started working fine.

Questions : what year is your c4 and I understand there are two switch types one square and one curved ? Which was yours ?
