Ya know, Matt. I called these guys twice and both times they said they’d call me back. They never did. I guess I don’t do enough business for them 🤷♂️. Probably good. That looks like it’s too much work. I feel you, man. You seemed like you were having a long day. lol Keep up the great work you do.
Hey man nice to see you around again..hope everything has been good for you. These jobs are definitely not for everyone..not hard, just time consuming for the actual profit made.
Matt, You already know my history with this kit and the 148GTL . ..per the original WLG instructions....just taking ALL kind of parts out... the whole time I said "this just cannot be right" ... "but he did it this way." Then...SHIT!! Then buy a guy an expensive 148 replacement to ship back. I beg for your easy to understand 148GTL DDS video. As a rebuild the other one back t stock. They never sent the wires in the "first ever dealer kit" came without wires ...ugh. I enjoy supporting shops that scan support me as well.. Paint all on my face on these !
To install the basic kit in a 148 and others, absolutely nothing "needs" to be removed unless you want to. The simplified installation is on the site help files.
Hello Matt ..... hope all is well , that would be awesome would love to have access with the kits....👍👍👍....ps ... I still have a few radios that need repairs and both to have rfx installed
Yes, very time consuming, entailed and most likely frustrating at times. I can see this scaring off the novice. Those with the technical experience can decide if they wish to tackle this on or not. Appreciate you putting this out there, Matt. 👍👍 😑🦗
@TheRadioGarage not at all, you do great work. For a one man shop, it gets frustrating to have so much work. It shows that your a good tech, but getting swamped with work is always a good problem to have.
@TheRadioGarage Thanks for letting me know your website says it will notify me when they are back in stock I definitely want one I want mine set at 14.2
This looks like a fun project. I need to snag one.
It's very easy to install, takes an hour in most cases but some base stations may take a bit longer.

Thanks for sharing this, I have a 2547 in my garage station that needs this. The temperature swings in the garage have it drifting a lot.
The older dx2547's had bad tuning cans. If you replace them it will stop drifting. I did
Great how to video, I like the DDS-VFO KITS but would probably choose another radio in the future.
Totally understand
Good afternoon,Matt.

Not at all, takes bit more than an hour to fully install.
