Gouranga Krishna is a kirtaniya since a very young age, he as an experience of over 20 years. He has played mridanga at vrindavan iskcon during Sri Pad Aindra prabhu's time and for many more years, and also has played in innumerous occasions with various singers and kirtaniyas. He has a deep understanding of this beatiful bengali godiya/ folk rythm instrument and has been teaching over 10 years now.
He has recently created a pre-recorded online mridanga course which has two levels, beginners and intermediate. The first level covers the fundamentals of mridanga (hand practice, finger practice and hatuti mantras) and the second level covers a few common taals used in kirtans and bhajans of the godiya kirtan culture.
This course contains practice materials for about an year approximately. If one desires to learn mridanga through this pre-recorded classes of Gouranga prabhu, it's a great choice as the classes are well structured, planned and
thoroughly explained.This course is for all age groups. For beginners for sure, and folks who have been playing can benefit from it too incase they feel the need to learn the proper placement of fingers and the right sounds are lacking in their existing playing experience, they can always spice up their playing more and more.
