@scrappyddz I have definitely been thinking about it. Just haven't gotten around to making anything yet. I started this channel while recovering from back surgery. Today actually was my last day of physical therapy. As I'm able to do more I figured I'll either break down and make some kiss blocks, or I'll get enough practice I won't need them.
If I could offer a suggestion, work your steel at a mich hotter temperature to avoid delaminations and cracks or other issues. Forge welding at low temperatures is typically the culprit for these things
I am pretty sure that the band saw blade was the issue, then again with the sun beating down it was hard to see the color of the steel. i certainly will be making adjustments.
It was worded fine. It's very possible it was on the cooler side the sun was blasting that day too so color was definitely hard to judge. I need to replace my shade flap. That ones torn to shreds.
Welcome, and thanks for checking my video out. I'm still learning the video making process, I really appreciate your support.
You should consider some ... of those specific thickness stoppers on your press (pillow blocks?) so you don't over squish, game changer when I did it

@kyky49rs57 I couldn't tell if it was the temp or the lighting. I wanted to say something but felt bad. I'm glad you did, it's worded very kindly
@@AP.Custom.Forgeworks thank you. I meant it kindly lol

Why not cut the failed piece down the middle, clean it up and add some core steel and re-forge?
no such thing as scrap here. it will eventually be used for another project.
Nice, but pretty far from what is an actual seax
