Thanks so very much for this informative video. I purchased my very first box today and had not a clue. The only thing I’m missing is a wooden spoon. I have arthritis as well so this hit home. 😊
Oh m g🎉❤ I'm 58 and just got my first box wine, yes, Franzia (Dark and Luscious Red, lol). I checked yt first because I knew some helpful soul was gonna show me how to do this! Thank you so much! Now, where is a wooden spoon?🤣🍷 Cheers!
This did help me, I got a Woodbridge box and wasn't 100% sure how to do it, I'm almost sure I could have figured it out myself but didn't want to make it inoperable, you know wine is important. Outlet on the side in perforations , pull off the plastic temporary holder put the bung outside the flap, push the flap to hold it and push the button. Thanks to you and you tube. Trust me I put things together without directions and get into trouble.
It was a Woodbridge that I was trying to open when I searched for this. I've opened many other boxes before with no problem but this one defeated me, even after this sweet video. I even took the bladder out of the box to find a way to turn the spout so it would pour. No wine for me tonight. (Maybe it would make a good gift for someone I don't like.)😇
I love your stage presence and your down-home sense of humor. I bought Franzia which I understand is a popular brand. Perhaps their setup is not the same but following your example, I was able to break through the perforation although I had to score it with my x-acto knife first. It seems the spout of your Vella is different from my Franzia's so I will need to find a video on my brand, but thanks for getting me this far.
Update: I found a video on opening a box of Franzia which is the same as your brand, but I had trouble figuring out how to pour the wine since it does not have a button to push. You have to loosen the cap's screw to release the wine. I was able to pour a cup of the wine to add to my beef stroganoff but I think because I am only 4'8" and up in years (72), I will return to 750ml or 1500ml bottles of wine when this 5L bag is empty. Oh, it is pinot grigio/Colombard I bought. Cheers!
I came for the video. I stayed for the charm. Thanks a bunch.

Some boxed wine is awful to try to open and pour. Woodbridge is the worst Arthritis in my hands so I really identify with the woman in the video.
