How about a best DC comic animation adaptations? I love the DC Animated Universe and i'd love your take on it considering we have so many movies now that, mostly, follow the same canon instead of being one-offs.
Are you quite sure she was introduced in the animated series? In a Christmas Story, remember Ralphie... one of his fantasy moments has the wicked witch and what looks like Harley singing that he’d shoot his eye out. And the movie is supposed to take place in the 40s
This is the big problem with the Joker and Harley in the comic books - writers inevitably want to "one-up" the last one, so Joker and/or Harley keep doing more and more terrible things. Like Deadpool, when Harley's playing good, they want you to forget that she intentionally murders dozens of kids. If your villain commits an atrocity like this, and is likely to do so again, having Batman capture him or her and put her back in a box isn't very satisfying. In this sense, it's important to keep even your homicidal maniacs and wanton murderers... somewhat redeemable. More or less about Deadshot level of "I kill people, will probably kill innocent people again, but... there's a chance I won't." You don't get that with the Joker. You might get that with Harley... but after the kids thing, maybe not.
@@EricHeidenAuthor You can do a "legacy"/copycat villain, have them be immortal, have them fake their death, etc. End of the day, if the "sane" version of your insane character would rationally wish to be killed, then they're fair game to kill. Spiderman hasn't really webbed up the Green Goblin and brought him to the police department a dozen times. But Batman SURELY has done this to the Joker. If I had my way, I'd retcon it that Harley was trying to stop the Gameboys from exploding but failed. She never directly says she's doing this and her "update" could just have failed to stop the massacre. Heck, this would work since in her next appearance in Suicide Squad, she now hates villains and his trying to kill everyone at Belle Reve Penitentiary. Unfortunately the backlash against this was so severe it was preferred the whole thing never happened.
The darkest Harley moment for me came from Gotham Sirens where Harley used her intimate psychological knowledge of Arkam guards to kill and/or bypass them culminating in her betraying Ivy by using Ivy's love for her.
I'd argue that Harley's appearance with her new family in Justice League: Gods and Monsters chronicles would have deserved a place on this list instead of one of these.
To be fair in one of the more recent iterations of Harley's origins (i.e. the travesty that is Suicide Squad) we technically have no idea what that toxic sludge does to her head aside from drive her crazy beyond whatever the Joker has done to her plus whatever cosmetic changes happen to her. So like her new perceived reality after that could literally be that she only sees the cartoon-y versions of violence, stars and birds circling someones head instead of literal death, sure its by no means an excuse for her actions, but based on the absolute mess of stuff you can find in Gotham that will alter your brain and/or DNA, it'd be a pretty Occam's Razor explanation of it all.
You forget the one where Harley finds out she's pregnant with the Joker's kid, goes into hiding to carry the child to term because she knows the Joker would cause a miscarriage, and then is forced to give up her child for everyone's well being.
I really want a comic that details Joker feeling for Harley. We kept getting Harley perspective but what about Joker. I wanna know why if He doesn't love her then why does keep her around? If she just another henchmen why does he keep pictures of her? What the point of multiple Harley's? Why does he need a female companion if he find their affection annoying? Lastly if he could make another why not just do that instead of going after Harley?
Multiple writers, with varying interpretations of the Joker, Harley, and the relation between them, plus a commercial department that insist on having the writer put them together for sales is why. For the multiples Harley, depending on the writers, it s either real, or a complete lie from the Joker just to spite the one and only Harley Quinn.
