Mazdaspeed 3 P2004 & P2009 (solved)

Basically, when I initially tested the vacuum solenoid it would operate correctly. After some time, it stopped working completely. I took another go at it when I was doing my egr delete and vta occ. Tested it and no click, in no combo would it divert vacuum. Order new one and only cel to pop up is egr.

I replaced that solenoid and my p2006 went away for about 100 miles or so then came back with p2004 as well, car still drives fine but idk what it is

I can't state a for sure fix as I went to a built motor with a CS port manifold a year later. The best bet is to source an oem solenoid from a used manifold. Try mazdaspeed Facebook pages. Re test and confirm your vtcs runners are free from carbon, your vacuum actuator works, and the solenoid is still operating. It may cycle erroneous time to time. Oem is the best option for replacement.

Hey i got the p2004 code, so i just need a vacuum solenoid? I can replace it with a new one and it'll make the code go away?

Cause this p2004 code cause my speed 3 to only make 5psi?

Probably not. P2004 is VTCS stuck open. Therefore, it should not cause a restriction. Check for boost leaks, EBCS problems, or excessive turbo wear.

Yes less power on lower rpms and rough rpm in cold start.

I purchased the one from WVE. Part number is LF1518741. Remove the solenoid and test it to ensure it's the problem before buying the new part.

I got p2009 and noticed bad gas mileage. Can replacing the solenoid fix that or is it with the vacuum line leak?

It controls air tumble entering the combustion chamber based on vacuum. Yes, in short.

How did you solve your oil consumption issue?

B12 chem tool and MMO soak the pistons for 3 days. Sucked it out, oil change, and drove it about 50 miles. Plus added cfm vta oil cap and damond vta occ with damond pcv plate.
