This was fun to work on. If anyone hates the chordy bits early on, oopsies. Have fun everyone. Also 1,808,352 is my high before the HOPO/tap chords became functional. Who's gonna beat it first?
I believe this is the most excited I've been about Guitar Hero in... well, ever. Seriously, thanks so much for all of your efforts, ExileLord. This could really get the GH3 community going again! :D
Hopefully the release of these hacks revitalizes some of the GH3 community. Would love to see them implemented into other songs. If not, I guess it's time for me to learn how to use feedback.
Aww yeah!!! Time to reinstall GH3PC for some good ol' fashioned colored button fun! You really out did yourself this time Exile. I mean c'mon, a 12 minute kickass song with 16555 notes collectively? @#$%in' amazing dude! Kudos to all of you!
I got this working for my own chart without much issue. The one blip was when I tried pressing "save to disk" I was getting "access to path xxxxxxxx is denied." - fixed by running Queen bee as administrator. I use E * for my forced hopo, chords and all! and E T for slider notes. Coooool.
I really am blown away by everything you have done regarding Guitar Hero the last couple of months. I haven't really played the game at all since the upload of my last video (except for a couple of times when I have played WoR with my friends), let alone touched FL. However, as soon as I see you upload something, not only do I get a overwhelming feel of nostalgia but I also get so freaking inspired to pick up the whole thing again. If I may quote your comment to Schmutz', "BEING A GROWN-UP SUCKS"; it's so true. But BOY, do I want to take the time to do a 20k notes song. It must feel so good to be the one who make alot of people comment "time to dust of ye olde plastar once again". You're so fucking cool man.
I've spent ages looking at the hacks. They are complicated but I can deal with it. I wish there were more people like you working on mods. What I would give for something like feedback and GHTCP that could support all this with no messing around
+ExileLord great if you get anywhere with integrating this into GHTCP, I will find you in real life and give you a high five. I can't express how excited and impressed I am with your mods.
+localhbci www.mediafire.com/download/r0l2qje0aew1ck5/Soulless_4_%28Source_Chart%29.chart You will have to edit out the N 5 0 and N 6 0 notes. I'm preserving them to discourage people from accidentally importing this with GHTCP
Thanks, ExileLord. I know what to do from here, I had to do similar to remove forced HOPOs from modern customs to import them into GH2 previously. I also wouldn't mind figuring out how to get this converted properly for Phase Shift, including forced HOPOs and tap notes.
I can't reply to your comment Mike because of your profile settings (Thanks Google) but it would be wherever you installed it. It's the folder with gh3.exe in it
+LF Master (LFM) if you don't have GH3 PC then you wouldn't be able to use the hacks and therefore the chart. This would be an incredibly unfun song without hopo chords and tapping notes. I don't make charts for other GH variants. I can leave that up to other people.
Great job on the hack. Even though you just released it, is it possible in the gh3 engine to make a hack to hit notes while holding onto a sustained note?
+xX0T1Xx IDA is just a really good disassembler. If you're not fairly experienced with programming and assembly you're probably in way over your head. I don't know of any tutorials but googling wouldn't hurt.
ExileLord I'm not a complete beginner at programming, I know a few basic languages, And i know a bit of java and c# and i thought it would be fun to have some fun with the game like you are doing
+xX0T1Xx Google around for disassembly and "crack me" tutorials. That should all you really need to get started. I'll get around to uploading the my .idb of GH3 at some point so other people don't have to start from scratch with the game.
Can I use this song in something else than GH? I'm asking because I want to make a level for a game called Open Hexagon with your song in it, and (obviously) you'll be credited as the song maker. Just wondering if you're okay with that.
Wrong place to ask, but I couldn't find it anywhere else and maybe someone here would know. On GH3 PC open with 3DAnalyze, the highway looks really choppy as if it runs at 30 fps but I have the game running at over 300 FPS, everything else looks smooth except the notes and the highway, is there a fix for this?
+vergil114 I've never heard of that behavior before. The highway shouldn't ever be choppy compared to the rest of the game because it's smoothed/interpolated based on the song's position. You may have seen the highway rapidly speed up after a game freeze to catch up to the song. I don't know the word for it but it sounds like your screen isn't being updated often enough. You can sort of see the same behavior in my program chartEdit where it will be at 300fps but look choppy. I'd suggest playing around with settings and updating drivers as a start.
Question: if you download the GH3 custom chart, will it open properly in Clone Hero? Or do i have to download a seperate chart dedicated to Clone Hero?
I think it's gonna take me a couple of months before I can really try this song. Only have a GH5 with stiff frets and I'm really rusty. Challenge accepted
This song is cool but after reading a few comments I noticed the song was packed inside an unusual file. Luckily I have some hacker buddies who took time to undo the works of the original guy Devs so your work here should be easy
It comes in the package. The plugins folder is something new that you have to create. You should be able to just drag and drop the contents of the folder
Soulless 4 worked flawlessly here, great job! I'm trying to do my own custom with your hack, however when I open up the modified .chart file (the one with N 5 0s and N 6 0s) on chartEdit it gives me an error....considering other people were able to do it properly I probably did something wrong (even though the chartEdit thing is in alpha stage, or whatever) Or maybe it's because the chart isn't even like 10% done so maybe it lacks events like [start], [end] etc Either way, here's the exception text: pastebin.com/yfGwHAsp Sorry for anything, and thanks in advance Edit: oh here's the chart incase it helps puu.sh/kUEnF/ecc845c4dc.chart
Part of the problem in this video was due to the way I imported it since it's just stacking the same audio three times at full volume. At the very beginning, you can hear everything get noticeably louder when rhythm joins in. The actually audio track in the song download doesn't have the same issue.
This was fun to work on. If anyone hates the chordy bits early on, oopsies. Have fun everyone.
Also 1,808,352 is my high before the HOPO/tap chords became functional. Who's gonna beat it first?
+BlueM3tal 2299k. now what??
***** You get an e-cookie. Sadly I have none left. You'll have to get back to me later on that.
But chords are the best! Its rare to see a solid chords part. Only tapping aids :(
lemonxreaperGH Just like your charts, right? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
+DarklyinDarknessGH post a run man!
You're the man! :]]]] Edit: Forget GH:L, we have our new GH here.
I believe this is the most excited I've been about Guitar Hero in... well, ever. Seriously, thanks so much for all of your efforts, ExileLord. This could really get the GH3 community going again! :D

I love the way the sustains look in that chord section near the end.
Definitely the best of all of them musically. Loved it, keep up the great work ExileLord. :)

And thus came your inspiration for El Diablo.
Jesus Christ this is insane! I lov the music so much and the chart is just crazy haha! Awesome job dude!
holy shyt yessssss I am ready for this
3:16 best part of song
I hope this song encourages charters to create songs like this, including all of your hacks.
This is it. The true final challenge. If you can pass this, you become the God of Rock.
its time to play soulless 4!
I wanna see u play soulless 4 (;
i'll record a run for sure

I've spent ages looking at the hacks. They are complicated but I can deal with it. I wish there were more people like you working on mods. What I would give for something like feedback and GHTCP that could support all this with no messing around
Reversing GHTCP is on my todo list. I might also clean up and open source chart edit at some point because feedback is a pain in the ass
+ExileLord great if you get anywhere with integrating this into GHTCP, I will find you in real life and give you a high five. I can't express how excited and impressed I am with your mods.
***** hey, I've incorporated tap notes into a couple of your songs if you want them. If you plan on doing them yourself, let me know lmao.
+Plumato sure upload them. I saw your soulless 4 pass video btw. Where did you get those tapping note frets?
***** sidney600 made them. :) I have a rar file that include both exile's texture and sidney's in each video description since the hack was released.
DUDE! I FREAKING LOVE YOU MAN!
I have been practicing on Step solo B, Robot A, and Murderous, so I could try this out, see what it does.
At this point its safe to say that Guitar Hero 3: Legends of Rock should be known as Guitar Hero 3: Legends of Rock Reloaded
Any way there could be a release of a "gimped" .chart? I'm interested in throwing this in GH2 for shiggles, minus the tapping/HOPO chords.

I wonder if the community will come back because of this...
why does the audio sound like it has more reverb and bass
awesome glad to see this happened :)
I can't reply to your comment Mike because of your profile settings (Thanks Google) but it would be wherever you installed it. It's the folder with gh3.exe in it
Ok. Thank you!
By the way, amazing job on this song.

HOW DO YOU FIND THE ROOT GH 3 FOLDER
Great job on the hack. Even though you just released it, is it possible in the gh3 engine to make a hack to hit notes while holding onto a sustained note?
It is but it's complicated enough that I don't want to attempt it yet
I tried "practicing" it by playing along with the video using my rock band controller. My fingers are still numb. o_o
soulless 5? when is that coming out I look forward to it
Could you please explain how to use IDA, If it's to complex to do so, Where can I go to learn to?
+xX0T1Xx IDA is just a really good disassembler. If you're not fairly experienced with programming and assembly you're probably in way over your head. I don't know of any tutorials but googling wouldn't hurt.

ExileLord Ok, Thank you!
Hyyyype, any plan on fixing the tapnotes under sp? (Unless it's already done lol)
+AbyssionQC It's on the list but the requirements before that is possible are rather large.
That's what I thought, good luck with any other hacks you plan to do if any :p
Can I use this song in something else than GH? I'm asking because I want to make a level for a game called Open Hexagon with your song in it, and (obviously) you'll be credited as the song maker. Just wondering if you're okay with that.
I don't really care. Go ahead
ExileLord Thank you very much. I can show you what I'll come up with when i'll be done with that, if you want.
16 THOUSAND NOTES?! screw that shit honestly.
Hello I wanted to ask if there is any way to make it possible to run this chart in Phase Shift?
Probably but I'm not going to be the one to do it
hooooly shit it's time to have some fun
Wrong place to ask, but I couldn't find it anywhere else and maybe someone here would know. +ExileLord Updating my driver seemed to have fixed the issue. I didn't think such a thing would have been an issue for an 8 year old game lol
yesss
probably a weird question to ask-- do you have a copy of shortened obsidian? the fl file seems to be extended and is missing a few things
The hack won't work for me. I have the new textures and I have the song, but I can't get tapping notes to work help plz :P
it's been one year already
I would like to ask, are you planning to try to get extended sustains working?
Question: if you download the GH3 custom chart, will it open properly in Clone Hero? Or do i have to download a seperate chart dedicated to Clone Hero?
just rename "Soulless 4 Dummy.chart" to ''notes.chart''
I think it's gonna take me a couple of months before I can really try this song. Only have a GH5 with stiff frets and I'm really rusty. Challenge accepted
where is the origional soulless 4 to download geez i cant it anywhere
Even after reading the instructions I still don't know how to install the song.
+gamejourno At which part did you stop following the instructions
ExileLord I figured it out. It took me 15 minutes to realise where to put everything.
This song is cool but after reading a few comments I noticed the song was packed inside an unusual file. Luckily I have some hacker buddies who took time to undo the works of the original guy Devs so your work here should be easy
You mention a plugins folder to move but there is no plugins folder...
+Shayded nevermind im a fucking inbred
It comes in the package. The plugins folder is something new that you have to create. You should be able to just drag and drop the contents of the folder
+ExileLord please please send me misadventure flp. I really like this song more then others and I want to see the notes
+venaamori1 I added a link to my flp files in the description.
ayy
Well I was goin to say that was bit different from the others and first comment
Can't download, link leads to a 404 page stating that the file has been deleted or the link was disabled.
you legend
What are those weird notes at 1:56?
Tapping notes
Anyway to get this on Phase Shift?
What happens if you play this song without the gh3+ hack
every tap note becomes a strum.
The rhythm looks insanely harder sometimes. .o.
Soulless 4 worked flawlessly here, great job!
I'm trying to do my own custom with your hack, however when I open up the modified .chart file (the one with N 5 0s and N 6 0s) on chartEdit it gives me an error....considering other people were able to do it properly I probably did something wrong (even though the chartEdit thing is in alpha stage, or whatever)
Or maybe it's because the chart isn't even like 10% done so maybe it lacks events like [start], [end] etc
Either way, here's the exception text: pastebin.com/yfGwHAsp
Sorry for anything, and thanks in advance
Edit: oh here's the chart incase it helps puu.sh/kUEnF/ecc845c4dc.chart
so does weird notes wtf are they? strum or no strum?
No strums. They're tapping notes. Like in wt and higher games you don't need to strum just tap
The amount of improperly distributed gain on this really makes some parts sound like a pile of mud unfortunately, but pretty cool overall
Part of the problem in this video was due to the way I imported it since it's just stacking the same audio three times at full volume. At the very beginning, you can hear everything get noticeably louder when rhythm joins in. The actually audio track in the song download doesn't have the same issue.
