This was one of the best videos I've seen on this particular install. Outstanding! Just installed these Cali Raised 2nd Gen's today on my 2021 SR5 Trail Edition 4x4. Maybe it's just me, but it still seems that someone who is enterprising enough could still find a way to get to the cats, especially the one on the passenger side. It didn't appear that it would be as easy to get to on the driver's side. But yes I do realize that nothing is foolproof, and all we are doing really is preventing the potential theft for someone in a hurry to cut 'em off quickly and be gone. This will probably deter 95% of these folks. I had to wait about a month, month and a half to get mine in after I ordered them due to lead time and demand, but I'm glad I have them on the truck now! It's just a shame that we have to go to such extremes these days to protect our stuff. Such is the world we currently live in. Once again, GREAT VIDEO! Thanks!
I got some maybe a month ago installed the gen 2 version no issues no rattling on the 2023 off-road 4x4 . I work at a hospital and my buddy got his 🐱 s stolen while working day shift , I’m happy I got mine on when I did . Great vid no bs
Best install video I've seen. Thank you for taking the time to put this out. I just received mine yesterday (5/23) for my 23 TRD Off-Road 4WD. Any issues with rattling? Biggest concern before install.
Hey! No rattling but I did notice the truck doesn't drive as smooth, like it did off the lot. Very minimal vibration but nothing too annoying. I rechecked the torque specs online and everything was in spec. At the end of the day it's worth the protection against theft. One last thing, I'd only use one "security" bolt, the security bolts are weak and can strip. Cheers. @@Tacomadude76

@@Mumfy64 I should have read further down. So you don't have to remove the skid to install. I'm installing the TRD Pro skid but don't wanna do it twice if I don't have to.

Dude! Funny As Hell, I Was Thinking About This Today. Toyota Should Absolutely Have These Installed In All Of The Tacoma Models.
agreed

Great video brother I just got my 2nd gen Cali raised tacoma beast cat shields and I'm installing them today yours look great
Thanks for the kind words and Im glad you are getting some protection!!
Especially nowadays
Did you have to remove the skid plate? Looks like you might have a TRD Pro Aluminum skid there?
Didn't have to remove the TRD skid plate. These won't interfere with it at all.
Nice truck. What tail light assembly are you running ?
Thanks. I have the TRD Pro Style black housing tail lights.
@@Mumfy64 are they an Amazon item? I’m looking to replace mine but they are all to blacked out for me.

That's the shield I was eyeing. Do you feel it would interfere with a TRD front skid plate? Nice to see your doggo!
I have the TRD front skid and they don't interfere at all.

@@JamesReedy no worries. If you had a mid skid you’d have to take that off.
What tool were you using to remove and tighten bolts? Impact wrench? Did you have to torque them?
The kit comes with a bit for the security bolts. I didn't torque them
@@Mumfy64 so you did use an impact wrench ?
@@Imtired_AF I did but put it on the lowest setting
@@Mumfy64 thanks for your response i really appreciate it
Now the thieves know the tools needed, a torx 40 and 14mm. Too many vid on these shields. Still worth buying these shields? Me no!
