Hi everyone! Here's my coffee painting of a forest scene! This was such a fun and interesting challenge to attempt and I would really love to work with coffee again sometime. I highly recommend giving this art challenge a try! Thank you so much for the amazing support on here! Hope you're all having an awesome day. :) -Chris
LethalChris Drawing My suggestion lol I'm 26 years old and I feel I'll be waiting 26 more years for that Sand Guardian, give me a sand dragon, or a sand dragon please!
I wonder about the instant coffee... I'm thinking the powder in it make act more like a pigment in watercolor paint.. I wonder if brewed coffee would behave differently..? EDIT: Wow that white lining worked wonders for the water!
A few questions: Did the Temperature of the coffee affect how well it painted? How long did it need to sit before it dried? Do you think that different Coffee brands/grounds/beans would give a different color hue, or was that entirely based on how much water you mixed with the beans?
I let the coffee sit for a little while before painting. Decided not to paint straight away in case it had a bad effect on the paper. I think different beans and grounds could definitely create different colours - that would be super interesting to explore! For this painting I just changed up the amount of water in each cup to vary the darkness.
I seen a few others before but this is the best coffee painting I've seen so far, if this one doesn't keep you awake, I don't what will. I wonder if cream might help, lol.
LethalChris Drawing no problem. I'm just waiting on my cut of the ad revenue. I assume the check is in the mail. JK 😂 THANKS FOR THE REPLY. YOUR VIDEOS HELPED ME GET THROUGH MY ALEVELS. *gives a man hug*
that's a great idea but how about try painting with natural food colors, such as beets, carrots, blueberries, kale, etc. There are lots of very vibrantly pigmented foods. Then it would truly be a painting done with "food colors" :)
its amazing to see that you show more than art...you tell us and help us on what materials to use and how and show the step by step speedthrough..really enjoying these videos keep it up🙏
Coffee makes a really neat paint medium. I've heard the darker edge that forms around blocks of color as they dry is called a halo, and coffee's halo really stands out! Great job on this, monochromatic pieces are always tricky :P
WAIT! I need to get my morning coffee before watching this! By the way, I love watching your videos. It give me inspiration everyday to draw myself... thanks to your videos and work I found back to continuing drawing after having a 5 year break . Greetings from sweden.
Amazing and brilliant idea with the three types of coffee. I think you're the first I've seen to this. I've seen some recently done with tea, and there are a lot of different herbal teas that give different colors if you ever want to try that one.
ohh you could try painting with natural stuff like mud or crushed berries etc. just an idea. this is gorgeous btw! the best of this challenge yet. stunning.
Omg chris I love this so much! I absolutely love painting with coffee! It's so different than paint 🎨 the texture the way it dries everything about it is so much fun to paint with! I'm definitely going to try it in this type of method and I'd love to see you do more coffee paintings!
I love your work. I did this when I was in my first year of college. I had fun because those times, I was just learning the basics of architecture and already, we had so many sleepless nights, not like it lessened now (I'm in my third year now) so coffee was and still is my partner then our professor decided to let us use it as a medium to paint a cathedral 😂
thank u. i just did this for my school project. it was my first time to actually paint lolol and i did a really bad one haha but thank u for the inspiration!
You should totally do this with different teas! Just a ton of different teas with different colours and do this but more colours! That would be awesome
Still waiting for a Wonder Woman......... what really made this drawing foe me was all the white marks you made to add the texture effects to his suit!
Wow such a great idea! I haven't thought about this and I may give it a try as well! Thanks Chris! For your next video could you draw a sports background type of picture?
Maybe first do a wash. And maybe just one cup of coffee but not a lot of coffee and a bit more water for a little brown and then just add more layers. Just a suggestion for next time. Still loved it. So relaxing to see.

Thank you so much. :)
When you accidentally buy decaf
Senpai i never tried decaf but everyone seems to dislike it. Why?
Angie Gomez because decaf means the coffee doesn't have caffeine in it, which is what wakes people up in the morning.
badyuff Senpai has noticed your kindness for answering Angie's question. I like you ❤️
badyuff thanks
Senpai I'm so honoured, love you senpai
Makes me feel calm, I love it
Really glad to hear that. :) Thank you for the support.

I would probably end up drinking all of the coffee on accident if I were to try this😂 Amazing job though as always!
Hahaha! Yep, I have to admit I ended up drinking more coffee than usual over the past few days.
I seen a few others before but this is the best coffee painting I've seen so far, if this one doesn't keep you awake, I don't what will. I wonder if cream might help, lol.
Loving the depth effect by the strength of coffee. 👍

너무 멋져요!
더 길게 달고싶은데 영어를 몰라서..
Hey Chris try using mashed berries as paint you would probably spend a lot of the time on mashing the berries but I think it would look cool
Or just a bunch of "paints" made from natural substances! It would be fun to see what he comes up with! :D
That's so cool! I didn't think you could use coffee!
That's a realy good idea and in looks realy cool! I like it! 👍😯😉😀
Thank you! :)
Absolutely amazing!!
That's some bullshit, it looks incredible, definitely one of your best :)
:D Thank you so much!!
I bet that drawing smells wonderful!!
HATS OFF TO UR CREATIVITY!! 😱😱👏👏
It's awesome Chris, your technique is fantastic. I would watch you painting an abandoned castle or fortess with a lot of plants growing for the walls.
You could use only coal powder to paint the walls and mashed grass for the vegetation.
i should probably try this out xD its cool!
I definitely recommend giving it a try. Coffee works surprisingly well! :) Thanks for watching!
Wow, so original, like everytime!!
