I was surprised when I saw the early slagging on wing play, it's always seemed to me like one of the better presets. Glad to see I wasn't completely off-base for a change. The preset is particularly good for lower league saves where I don't know the players that well, because I know I just really need two decent wingers and a big striker and it'll work OK, rather than rebuilding a whole squad into a gegenpressing machine.
Shifting your wingers forward a space to make it a 4-2-4 wing play and changing the WB to FB(sup) allows for solid defence while long balling it to the front men. Of course you need to take off the overlaps instruction to keep the speed up. I like a W on one side and having an IW or IF on the other as an extra man to get to the far post when the cross comes in. Change your BBM to a Playmaker if they have the talent to launch a good long ball and leave the other as BWM(def or sup). Your AF can also become a simple poacher if they keep wandering off to the sides too often. Like all tactics you have to watch a few games carefully and see how the team is playing the style, a few minor tweaks can make a massive difference, but only by watching do you understand which tweaks are required.
Another Stinger upload? Let's go, let's go, let's go! Been enjoying your content since the algorithm recommended your vids a couple months back. Fresh video ideas and snappy content. Learnt a lot too. Keep it up 🙏
4-4-2 was "invented" by Alf Ramsey in 1966, famously the team were known as the 'wingless wonders' as prior to that the team played 4-2-4 with 2 wingers or 4-3-3 with 1 winger & 2 CFs.
The game says my style is wing play even though I don't think I used that preset. I guess the game analyzes how you play and gives you a style? I don't even have focus on flanks on. Guess it just the roles or the very wide offensive width? In any case, interesting video. I'm playing a 3-5-2, 1 DM in my new Wolves save and defense has been a struggle at times. I need to develop better defenders I guess or a better keeper lol
Hey Stinger, I am trying to play 442 in my Everton save. I have Calvert Lewis, Beto and Toluwalase Arokodare as my main strikers. Would a PF (A) & CF (A) be better for the Wing Play tactic to maximise the height advantage of my main strikers? And yes, 442 concedes goals like crazy. Hahaha
Hey Stinger, I created a tactic and I think it's pretty good, a 3-2-2-2-1 christmas tree formation, how can I send it to you, maybe it might be of interest?
think you unironically might have gone too defensive with the fullbacks sitting narrower instead that if u asked them to get futher foward i think u'd have better results
also b2b with get futher foward exposed ur midfied too much i think specially with attacking mentality defualt b2b already gets futher foward just fine
I've just had loads of success with the preset 442. I changed it to positive and set the BBM to a CM on attack, wingbacks on support. Maybe a couple of other tweaks I can't remember, but it can play really well if you get the right players.

Thank you man. Appreciate you giving the channel a go
you are nailing the content rm stinger 👍
Appreciated
I use a 4-4-2 with 2 DM’s with my Southampton squad. The wing play is pretty much close to the preset just with different roles.
That works quite well
Sounds like you've got it nailed

Wingplay 4-4-2 has got me some good lower ability success (worked really well in an Irish save, with a few minor tweaks) - fair play to the preset
Looks a good option for them lower leagues
This one was funny 😂😂😂😂
Sting Wing is a top notch name. Doesn’t matter if it’s not effective.
😂🫡

I'd maybe try one as a poacher so he's always in the box ready
