We are the watchmen: We are to be prayer warriors! God does not need us! We need God!
2 Chronicles 7:14; If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
James said draw near to God and God will draw near to us.
Our attempts to draw near to God, God waits for us to turn to him. God has never left us it is man who has left God.
God is seeking for those who will pray and seek God:
2 Timothy 3:16; All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
Revelations 12:11; And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
I agree with so much of what Andrew says. But Paul does make it clear all authority is placed there by God (Romans 13). Hosea is saying that those kings were not His preferred people to rule, but he allowed them to put in their man, not His. Just the same, the bad king was in authority and was then to be obeyed. Keep in mind Paul wrote what he did under Nero's rule! God allows a lot of bad to happen, but he can work even through that.
