their whole discography is amazing, especially considering they started so young, kept going, its all good, just listen with an open mind. been listening since frogtomp came out, now im 33 with 2 kids, still listening, working from home lol
Fantastic band... definitely wouldn’t tag anything but Frogstomp and Freakshow as “amazing” tho. After the 90s they started to make super boring pop rock. Imo.
There were about 20 known grunge bands in Seatle before anybody had heard of Nirvana. Nirvana broke through to the mainstream with Smells Like Teen Spirit and Lithium, songs which were heavilly influenced by the Pixies but the lead singer of the pixies was a bald fat guy with glasses.
No this was the third song on their first EP for their Tomorrow single (1st single) which came out in 1994. The first silverchair CD I bought. Obviously signs of depression early on.
I don't think it was his depression that was on his music. A lot of bands at the time sounded like this. They were jsut trying to be like the bands they liked. Obviously that changed gradually until Neon Ballroom
Yeah, they never recorded this 'til around 1998 when they were making the rarities and Best of Volume One album. They only played live shows with this song and then stopped performing around the Frogstomp Era. Atleast you know your knowledge about the 'Chair. :)
@Spedly You are actually right, but there are three different soundtracks and recordings. The first and original one was recorded in 1994, but the other version, which is a little bit stripped down and the vocal lane is different is recorded in 1998. It is on the "Frogstomp (20th Aniversary Edition)" album. The soundtrack is called "Blind (Remastered)". Also, there's another one version, which is really similar to to the remastered one, but it is a little bit different. It doesn't sounds so deep like the other one. It is released on the "Tommorow EP" album in 1994 too, but it is so different than this version! So, both of you are right! Have a nice day, man! 😀👍
Not at all. The song was recorded twice and released twice, the first time in 1994 on their first CD (the EP Tomorrow in 1994) and a re-recorded version from 1996 on the Cable Guy Soundtrack (1996), Abuse Me single (1997) and the Best Of (2000).
A Faustino Nirvana sounded like a bunch of other Seattle bands at the time but they broke the mainstream using the Pixies hard soft style and super catchy sound and lyrics, which worked well with their image. Pixies main singer was fat, bald and wore glasses. Kurt had the perfect look for the sound.
No, he's not...! I know that your comment was posted seven years ago, but still I'm gonna answer you in my opinion... First of all, you should know that I'm a huge Nirvana fan, but I'm not saying that, because of this fact... I love listening to Silverchair and I really miss them! Daniel was such a great musician! He started his career, when he was a child! Silverchair's music is really unique and it is very straightforward. 13 years old boy started his band at his garage with two friends, because of school musical festival. And then with his incredible voice and musical style, they wrote lots of amazing songs and became an awesome band! Like most of the bands, at least in my opinion, their best album is the first album, because it is their beginning, they're not commercial, don't think about other things and doing their best. They also have more good stuff in their other albums, but before the 2000's. Unfortunately, Daniel's fate happened in an unexpected way and because of personal reason and some problems, he got the decision to end everything, about his old times and the 1990's era of Silverchair. He tried to return in other way, but he saw that it wasn't succsessful. If you didn't heard something, about their last stuff or Daniel's personal singles, then you can do it. They have nothing similar to the old soundtracks of Silverchair's "Frogstomp" era. But still I think that Daniel have amazing voice in these days too. His vocal range is unbelieveble! And I think he have a bit better voice than Kurt and sometimes performing much better vocals than him. Even a lot more better! I think that Nirvana and every other band is special in his own way, but maybe if Silverchair was still performing these days like they did in their old way in the 1990's with some changes and Daniel's fate didn't took it's bad way... Silverchair had a chance for lots of better opportunities. Unfortunately they broke up at 2011 and Daniel turned into a part of all the garbage artists of today's generation. Still I can't believe that Daniel Johns from Silverchair turned into this human, who he is today, but growing over the years can change you a lot as a person. We can not be sure if Kurt was still alive, that he's not able to turn into the kind of today's Daniel, but I think he wasn't. The other problem, about Silverchair's succsess is that they are really underrated australian band, nevetheless how awesome they were, but they needed to be heard from more people. They wasn't that popular like Nirvana, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Alice In Chaince and other for example. The main reason for this was because, they were an australian band and as of Australia, they had huge crowds on their concerts, but maybe not enough to get a global popularity. Anyway... If all of their problems wasn't avaiable today, maybe they had any kind of chance to get the level of Nirvana's popularity or some of the other american bands. But we all know that, Kurt and Nirvana had a lot more global succsess than Daniel and Silverchair! That's why I think Kurt was better musician than Daniel and Silverchair, nevertheless Daniel's incredible musical talents and possibilities. Have a nice day, man! 😀👍

Idk why everyone always makes this Nirvana comparison, I really don’t lol. Daniel was mainly influenced by bands like Local H, Helmet and Pearl Jam
@@liamtimothy1929 I don't see the helmet comparison, they seem pretty different,. Seems like Pearl jam and Nirvana too me haha
Why you compare them to Nirvana? There are no similarities ,only in lie to me!
They were more Helmet than Nirvana tbh
