Here are the words that are cut off from the ending: "For once the female Swede who had taken it had produced a piece of writing without misleading errors. The message was quite clear. CHARLES PARIS - PLEASE RING RACHEL GRANT, CASTING DIRECTOR AT THE NATIONAL THEATRE. His hands were sweaty as he fumbled in the directory for the number. His fingers slipped and he had to redial. But he got through. He asked the voice on the switchboard for Rachel Grant. ‘Hello. Rachel Grant.’ ‘Ah, this is Charles Paris. I had a message to call you.’ ‘Yes, yes, of course. Thank you very much for getting back to me so quickly.’ There was a silence. ‘No problem,’ said Charles fatuously, filling the space. ‘The fact is, you were recommended to me, Mr Paris.’ ‘Yes?’ ‘For a job I need doing.’ ‘Yes?’ ‘It’s the sitting-room of my flat. Just emulsion on the walls and gloss on the paintwork. I wonder, would you be free to do it?’ ‘Yes,’ said Charles Paris. ‘I’d be free.’“ Not Dead, Only Resting Written by, Simon Brett
But I didn't say there was no ending. I've listened to all of these before and I know they put a load of music before the last chapter, it is something to do with copyright I think!
@@mrsmiggins6435 Yes, I know, I rewind the music to listen to the last chapter. But this time I didn't hear the book being read to the end. I have listened to all of S. Brett's books, and the video always lasts until the whole book is read, and even announces the end. And, yet your comment is "Great story. Thank you." On the other hand, if you had bought the book without the last few pages, I don't think you would have the same comment. I wish you all the best💐
Yes. The ending is cut off. Same thing happened on another audiobook from this channel. It's almost complete, but that cutoff is absolutely horrible. I'm realizing that likely all the audiobooks on this channel have the same problem. At least most of it is there 😢
@nadaklen3254 well then, I know all the Bill Nye, Charles Paris by heart, so won't bother then. This is the first time I heard that Francis had found someone else! Thanks for the update and all the best. Sue 🥰
@@susankara7520 English is not my native language, so maybe you didn't understand me. The video ends before the book has been read to the end. All the best. Nadine🥰
@@rogermason-steele6111 Maybe the words "disgusting and disgraceful" are too strong, but I agree that it is not right to listen to a book for 5.5 hours and not know the end.
You want perfection then pay for it. People who take the effort to put audiobooks on here for us to enjoy do not deserve to have 'disgraceful' thrown around.

Thank you so much!
This is less crash bang and more like a book.
Great story. Thank you
Did you listen to the end?
???
@@mrsmiggins6435 Yeah, I wonder, too. Why there's no the end of the book???

Wonderful, keep them coming.😀
Did you listen to the end?
@@nadaklen3254 Yes?
@@ShaunLowthian Oh, great. Can you tell me the end of the book, because the video ends before the book has been read to the end? Thank you💐
@@nadaklen3254 how far from the end were you?
@@ShaunLowthian As far as the end of the video is far from the end of the book.
ATTN: CUTS OFF BEFORE THE END!
No, the end is there, you just have to sit through the music.

Thanks for the warning.
You have to wait for the stupid Muzak to end. The end of the book is there.
The Muzak is there for some pathetic reason but apparently necessary.
'ask' in Australian English is not like 'ask' in the north of English. It's like the 'a' in 'army'.
Oh goody 😊

@nadaklen3254 no it was too slow, but may pick up rest tonight.
@@susankara7520 There is no the end - it is cut off. That's why I was surprised when I saw your comment, and the other two.

What happened to the end.? Missing again. Disgusting and Disgraceful

i believe the music is there for copyright purposes. Hard to believe this book is 40 years old. GOD, I"VE AGED.....
Okay looks like incomplete so won't bother
It's not incomplete. Just go passed the music. There is another chapter.
