@@chrisjherman I am not a slaver, I am a gladiator... In a monotone voice. Also didn't buy his and Ravi's relationship at all for Ravi to risk so much for him.
his role was badly written, he was inconsistent. Lets take as an example the scene where the guard bullied him and made him row alone. Why did Lucius obey? As one reviewer said, he often gave beta male behavior. Would Maximus listen to that guard? NO. I guess the guard would not even dare to talk down to Maximus.
What I find funny is that Paul Mescal recently did an interview saying he has no desire to ever want to be in a Marvel movie and I'm just like; They probably wouldn't even consider hiring him since he has the charisma & charm of a plank of wood.
I thought it was fine for the most part. I was shocked how much it had in common with the original, which only adds to people’s feelings of the movie being unnecessary. If the subplot with Denzel’s character had been the main plot it would’ve been a much more interesting movie. Then again that could’ve been its own thing & not a superfluous Gladiator sequel.
Stars wars isn’t comparable. The kid wasn’t a kid. He’s a grown man with a life and a wife. Just trying to be happy. Not a better life just not a roman life. When Rome and its ambitions come knocking.
@@shinndig1293 I heard that gladiator 2 is pretty much a remake of the first movie. At least Romulus did something creative with the things it was copying.
the moment i heard this was being made my heart sank. and the more i learned about it the more soulless it felt.
It definitely feels soulless. Just a really hollow story
Paul Mescal has the charisma of an expired chicken sandwich.
I found him really dull and lackluster as well. No charisma in the movie at all.

I really liked it. Sure, similar plot but I think it’s different enough. Denzel definitely carries this.
Glad you dug it!

It’s definitely better than Prometheus and Covenant. I really want those 4 hours back
I'll agree with that 😅

It being so similar to first really dragged it down for me. You can't help but compare it to the original.

I think it is very comparable, especially based on the examples I gave in the review
Did we see the same movie??
I believe so! Did you see Gladiator II?
I think people will hate this movie like alien Romulus for one reason. It’s not original.
@@Xenomorph.fan24 You're absolutely right.
Alien Romulus is much better made than this film.
@@shinndig1293 I heard that gladiator 2 is pretty much a remake of the first movie. At least Romulus did something creative with the things it was copying.
But that just was at least 7 in the original. Was Maximus fighting in the arena for that long??
Sorry? What about 7?
This movie lacks “powah.”
It absolutely does 🤣
Gladiator: Romulus
@@LoveFactorySweatShop you hate Romulus didn’t you but this film will get hated on for not being original.
@ I love Romulus, but all these legacy sequels are just running the Force Awakens playbook.
@@LoveFactorySweatShop I can agree on that and I really liked Romulus but it has problems but still very good movie.
I'm mixed on Romulus. Ridley Scott's involvement certainly hurt it.
@@chrisjherman I liked it but Ridley is definitely one of the biggest problems with the film I agree.
Movie was good for a sequel no one asked for. Don’t think to hard
Telling one to "not think hard" isn't the best way to review a film.
