My visit to the Great Wall of China. The section of the wall we visited was about a 90 minute drive north of Beijing. It was very crowed since it was during the 8-day National Day holiday and it was also a very beautiful day.

This is really amazing! I imagine if all the people of the crowd stand hand-in-hand along side the Great Wall , I guess the length of living Human Wall will compare to the stone Great Wall. Fantastic!

visited several times, very nice historical landmark in China...last trip in year 2015.
@PrincessHv101 I visited this section of the Wall in 2005, it was about 20% less busy then what you see here. It's the closest part of the wall to Beijing, the further you get out the less busy it is. We hiked about 5 miles of it, and were almost by ourselves. You have to be in good shape, but it's well worth it. It's just an unexpainable feeling to be there, it's so grand and magnificent.

I have been there 4 or 5 times. This is a great experience. When you climb high enough, there was a hero's spot where you can take pictures. It takes some guts but this is mankind's greatest effort for national defense extending several thousand miles !

I visited in winter when there were no crowds. The snow-covered branches were amazing. Fortunately I had my camera with me.
I was there during their 8-day National Day celebration so everyone was off work, plus the weather was outstanding, so crowds were very big. Have a great time, you will love it.

Are you kidding me you want to reach the end of the wall? For you information, the length of the great wall is 8,851.8 km (5,500 miles) long from Hushan in Liaoning and Jiayuguan Pass in Gansu. The wall in Beijing measures over 550 km (342 miles) long.

It was very crowded because it was in the middle of their 8-day National Day celebration. Their is no school or work in that period. The weather was also spectacular. Your date probably falls during that holiday, I was their the first week of October as well. It was a 3-Day Princess tour prior to a Southeast Asia cruise.

By the way, the bathrooms here were the most horrible I have ever experienced and I have been to 14 countries. They have holes in the floor, and I don't beleive they have ever been cleaned it. The bathrooms had no lights, and I literally lost my breath, ran out, took some deep breaths, held it ran back in and did my business.
I wanna go back there so bad. The views are breathe-taking in person. Thanks for the upload :-)

Tim, was this from a Princess tour? We will be there on Oct 8th, 2013. It looks really crowded, that is disappointing. I was hoping we would be taken to a place that is not so crowded. It is just packed full of people. That's kind of disappointing, what did you think of it?

Probably it's the weekend or public holiday? I was there in 2008 and there weren't nearly as that many people. But it was an exhausting hike to climb to the top of the mountain.

Hey Tim, we had a great cruise from Whittier to Taijin China and then to Beijing and Xian. I'll upload them later when done. The holiday ended on Monday and we visited The Wall on Tuesday. It was almost empty of people...which allowed for some great photos and videos. This was true of all our days in China, we got real lucky. Thanks for your input. John
