  • A new version of "We'll Meet Again" with improved audio, which now has slight dynamic compression in places to improve the overall sound balance and increase the volume. From Festival of Remembrance 2009 at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Both versions are by Dave of HWI (channel hwivid). Uploaded November 2009, first made searchable on 11 October 2010.

Hayley Westenra ヘイリー 海莉 with Dame Vera Lynn & The Froncysyllte (Fron) Male Voice Choir singing "We'll Meet Again" before The Queen, and Dame Vera herself, at The Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance 2009. This is one of Vera Lynn's most famous songs and there is an exciting "twist" at 2m 45s into the video.
This performance is a tribute to Dame Vera Lynn, who is shown taking her bows at the end and who recently became the oldest living artist ever to top the UK album chart, at the age of 92.
Broadcast on BBC HD TV from The Royal Albert Hall, London on 7 November 2009. Captured edited and uploaded by Dave Ludlow in High Definition video for Hayley Westenra International - HWI.

    *LYRICS*
    We'll meet again
    Don't know where
    Don't know when
But I know we'll meet again
    Some sunny day
    Keep smiling through
    Just like you always do
    'Til the blue skies
Drive the dark clouds far away
So, will you please say hello
To the folks that I know
Tell them I won't be long
    They'll be happy to know
That as you saw me go
    I was singing this song
    We'll meet again
    Don't know where
    Don't know when
But I know we'll meet again
    Some sunny day
    We'll meet again
    Don't know where
    Don't know when
But I know we'll meet again
    Some sunny day
    Keep smiling through
    Just like you always do
    'Til the blue skies
Drive the dark clouds far away
So, will you please say hello
To the folks that I know
Tell them I won't be long
    They'll be happy to know
That as you saw me go
    I was singing this song
    We'll meet again
    Don't know where
    Don't know when
But I know we'll meet again
    Some sunny day...

I was there on this occasion, first of festivals I have attended, very emotional but this was very special when Hayley gestured to Dame Vera at the end and the entire auditorium stood and applauded including members of the royal party. It is difficult for today's young people to understand how absolutely vital people like Dame Vera, Ann Shelton. George Formby and many others were to not just the troops in the combat areas but also to their wives and families back home. These ladies gave hope that the end of hell would come.

Love this and have listened to many of the recordings of Miss Lynn's for many years. She means so much to those of us that are old now and appreciate what she meant to our soldiers and everyone else during WWII.

@VanHuisstede This recording is not available on CD, it was a special performance 'live' for the 2009 Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance (broadcast on BBC TV). But highlights are available on a DVD from the British Legion's Poppy Shop - do a google search for " festival of remembrance dvd 2009 " (links aren't allowed in here) and this may be what you want. Good luck!

All the Allied soldiers who succeeded in freeing us from a great evil (so many years ago it may be now), I salute them. I"ll remember them.

Greetings from Russia and Soviet army veterans! God bless you and your country)
There are many political controversies between us now, but we have to still be Christians and humans, and to save our common historical memory. I want that some sunny day there will be true peace and friendship between our countries.

Here is another version of this popular 2009 video, with subtly improved audio (for those who found Hayley's voice too quiet on the original). It's been here all the time but is now searchable and comments can now be made.

sadly this improved audio does not do the part there is too much backing IE: Haley's voice is not strong enough to rise above a brass band
