      Experience is a good thing, money in politics is not.
      Without Citizens United and our representative’s ability to legally purchase stocks and enrich themselves through insider policy knowledge and legislative influence, career politicians would again be the public servants they’re supposed to be.

    Thank you, Mark Steiner and the Real News Network, for having Mr. Jim Hightower on.
    A remarkable man speaking about how power works and what we may all do about it. A living example, along with many other names. My gosh, Molly Ivans, a great journalist and writer. She could make one laugh , a few cuss words, but she took no crap. RIP 🙏❤️ Molly Ivans.
    Anne Richards, what a legend!
    RIP 🙏 ❤ Governor Anne Richards.
    Thank you, Willie Nelson, and all the muscians for their continued support.
    May we put the party back in politics! Nothing comes easy for any of us. Remembering all those who care about one another and lift one another up, out of this arrogance and hate that politicians and corporations have passed their warer buckets around for themselves only in terms of money.
    Thank you both again for this refreshing discussion.

    Still recall Jim's sage advice, "Voter turnout depends on voter turn on."
    Both major political parties utter dependence on fear & rage, to drive the American public to the polls is an undeniable recipe for continued disaster for this country.

    Mr. Hightower is the real deal. He is a trooper. A leftie in texas? Hats off. We need a civics university of the real left persuasion. Mr. Hightower, Nader, Hedges, and comrades should teach there. One can dream.

    Well that was an entertaining show! Maybe I'm just getting old myself but I suddenly have so much more respect for these giants from our past and the wisdom they've accumulated. Getting organized needs to be less about drudgery and more fun! We're all here to help ourselves by helping each other, right? Why not celebrate it?!

      Because this type of “joy” comes from religion, not politics.
      Politics is nothing compared to the power of religion.
      Human beings need to move on from the patriarchal descriptions of God. God as a father is soooooooo Last Century.

    • @Spock_Rogers
      @Spock_Rogers Рік тому

      @@JosedeJezeusThe countries with the highest standards of living, who treat their citizens the best, are among the least religious.
      The last time the religious were in charge, people were hung as witches.
      We need to stop giving taxpayer money to churches: invest in community centers instead of divisive religious organizations.

    • @JosedeJezeus
      @JosedeJezeus Рік тому

      @@Spock_Rogers The patriarchal religions are outdated. Imagining our creator as a “father in the sky” is no longer a revolutionary concept like it once was. It’s time for human kind to move on from that ancient, outdated way of thinking.
      I support a separation of church and state. I do not advocate for the government to be run through the governing principles of any religion, because different people believe different thing, and belief can’t be forced.
      The government gives money to churches? How, and why would they do that?
      In America, where I am from, churches are *Tex exempt entities.* This makes religions the only TRULY FREE organizations in America. The result of this is that in America, *religious creativity is encouraged.*
      Do you understand that I just dismantled your argument? America, the greatest country on Earth, the greatest country in history, is a place that *encourages* religious creativity.
      I understand your hatred for religion, because so much horrible things have been done in the name of religion, but that doesn’t mean God is not a real idea, a GOOD idea!
      What do you believe?
      Do you believe that human beings evolved through Magical Nonsense? Or through a Logical Process?
      Is evolution logical? Or is it random nonsense?
      If something is logical, then it means it makes sense. The Universe makes sense, because it’s all built from ONE SYSTEM OF LOGIC, and that is how I define what created us (and everything in existence), that is how I define our GOD, our creator.
      God is LITERALLY a System of Logic, a 3D math, a SACRED GEOMETRY.
      I know, because I am in the process of describing it, but I can’t do it alone.
      🌈 Join Me. Together, we will describe God in a way that all humans can agree. 💖

    15:46 ~ Not only is it more difficult to make sense to people from all over the state than to just a few, it’s also more expensive to “buy” all those people than it is just a few.

    Democrats do a lot in California. How come people are moving to Texas and not California? What’s important to democrats results or virtue signaling. I lived in Japan for 14 years and I seen a Japanese care about they’re country, it’s safe and clean. It’s sadly my home Portland Oregon Democrats have destroyed in a matter of 5 years. GOP weakness is the reason populism Trump has gained so much popularity.

    the more money you have the easier it is to make money- this is fundamentally wrong! since most $ is created from our (publicly own) natural resources. thus we need a heavy tax on the rich AND as a tax on pollution of all type for everyone.
