Ibig sabihin po ba, covered na din yung mga naka- Working Holiday Visa, or mas priority pa din po ba nila yung naka full-on Working Visa talaga? Thanks po!

Wise decision to apply for jobs in a related field, while also not discounting odd jobs. I was the one who posted before about you and I having a similar background. Journalism ed background in multinational company as editorial director (not corp communications exactly) in PH. When I first came to the US, fellow Filipinos and family members told me to apply as a maid/helper first, so I applied to do that. I did many odd jobs to support myself from high school to college, as I didn't get a cent from my parents at the time, so I was not even averse to hard, menial work. But even if I was doing that, I told my family members I have to stay focused and keep applying for a job in my industry as well, somewhere close to it at least -- advertising, PR or marketing positions. This soured my relationship with family members and was called out for being arrogant, even up to this day. But I did get a job in my field, like you. So I got the job but ultimately destroyed relationships with some family members. Here's what others need to know out there. I bet you, Anne, did it yourself without family members making decisions for you. When you have to make that journey, whether to NZ or the US, don't stay in a relative's house (my mother lives in NZ but she didn't petition me). It will not end well, even if you're only staying for a few months. Be an adult about it and decide for yourself, like Anne here. Assuming she didn't stay with relatives in NZ at first, she did it correctly by venturing out on her own, as long as you have a good plan, of course; remember, Anne mentioned she does strategic plans, so she's smart. She's a planner. One final thing: Years later, I would ask non-Filipino immigrants, especially Asians, who went to the US if they first worked doing menial jobs, they said no. My Chinese and Koreans-friends in the US first came to the US as students. This way, they got an American college education, which made it easy for them to find a job in the American workplace. That's crucial to know because American employers will not recognize your education outside of the US. When I got a US college education later, I got a better job.
Thanks for the insightful comment, DennisZen! What a humbling story -- I'm so pleased that, at least, you still had a 'happy ending' there in the US. 😀🙏 When I moved here to New Zealand, I already conditioned my mind that this will be a 'life reset'. I was open to taking on a different pathway but I am thankful that the universe led me to jobs that are in some ways related to what I did back in the Philippines. You are right; when making a move as big as starting anew in a different country, we have to be decisive and firm about it, without letting other people meddle with our life and our decisions. Nasa culture kasi natin 'yan, we always need to consult and ask advice sa elders and family before making any big move. Having family away from home, for me ha, it's helpful; kasi nababawasan kahit papano ang pagka-homesick, you get a support system. So sad yours turned out to be a sour experience. Pero 'yun nga, sometimes we have to make difficult decisions talaga along the way... Cut ties, if we must. I hope (it looks like it naman!) you're in a much better place and state now. Stay safe and well.
@@GirlChasingSunshine As they say, life is a rollercoaster with its ups and downs. You just have to learn how to deal with it.... Think of it as a journey. On support systems, I recall meeting a Filipina I met once. She said she calls her parents about her problems finding a job in the US... EVERY SINGLE DAY. I told her the distance makes it harder and more stressful for her parents. I said every detail is not important if they cannot help you with it. It's ok to be honest but not to the point that you sound helpless. Re: relatives, they're not exactly your immediate family so it's never easy. But you know all these. Keep vlogging. I hope you can interview Filipino professionals in NZ about their jobs, too. It'd be good to hear their stories. Ingat dyan.

I love the experiences you shared. I am also looking for a job overseas, but like you im in marketing communications and this somehow an uncanny suggestion from UA-cam and I'm not sure if it's a sign. But thank you for sharing. @@GirlChasingSunshine @Girl Chasing Sunshine - Anne hi po. I'm just a junior Highschool completer and hindi ako tumuloy mag-aral because I need to work. I have been an online ESL teacher for almost 3 years now. Is it still possible to apply for holiday visa and be a permanent resident in New Zealand without any college diploma? Thank you
OMG because of this parang gusto ko na mag NZ hehe. Love your vlogs mamsh 💖😍

Happy for you Ms. Anne..That's my dream country na mapuntahan ang New Zealand, nag training pa ako sa dairy farm sa Pangasinan at sa Nueva Ecija together with my friends just to have certificates and sad to say we aren't lucky enough to go there, at nalulungkot po ako tuwing maalala ko yung friend ko si helen she died there in new zealand nagkaron sya ng lung cancer

Hahahaa konti pa 'yan, Gerika, compared sa mga plantito at plantita kong kakilala.😂 Thanks for watching. Medyo challenging ang panahon ngayon. Tulad ng nasabi ko sa Q&A video, on hold and temporary visa applications for offshore applicants. You can follow INZ updates here: www.immigration.govt.nz/about-us/media-centre/news-notifications
For now, never lose that hope and excitement. Someday soon, it will be your turn. 🙏❤

Relate po!!! Di po talaga in-demand yung field natin. And it's very doubtful na may chances abroad since native English speakers sila.
But then you proved na it's possible. Wow! Very inspiring.
