Freshly cut loose pieces between the fence and the blade (whithout clearance space) are a great way to get hurt. Either use a spacer or push the fence away and measure some other way, man.
    Speaking from experience.
    Cheers!

I’m a professional fine furniture maker, with 20 years of experience on a table saw, no injuries. I appreciate your concern, but there was no instance where I would be injured. The one cut you’re probably referring to was the 1st one, cutting the 8’ mdf sheet, which was unorthodox because the waste piece is in the center and I let gravity remove it. But there was minimal chance of a kickback in that situation. If you’re talking about the crosscutting, I always use a stop block spacer, it may be hard to see from the angle of the video.
