I'd love to play Tarkov. But it has the learning curve of a brick wall, that if you haven't been playing it since release day, you haven't got a hope in hell. Plus of course, it's not on Steam.
Not true, with enough persistence you will get better just keep at it. It really helps to play with people who know what they’re doing, if not just playing with the another new player is better than solo. Solo is the hardest way to learn the game but there’s not better time than now since it just wiped and the playing field is Leveled.
If there was ever a time to jump in man it's right now the movement and gunplay has been changed quite drastically this patch and the game feels completely different so everyone is kinda getting used to it
I've been a skeptic for a while, too, but a lot of things in the game are really coming together in this update. VOIP, slower movement speeds, recoil rework, limited flea market exchange between players, etc. The game isn’t perfect, but neither is DayZ. And that game had a hell of a learning curve as well. Truth be told, I've been playing way more Tarkov recently.
I wish DayZ would adapt these graphics and add the additional weapon jams and checking chamber/magazines/animations. That’s the only thing that Tarkov does better than DayZ imo. The main objective of Tarkov and the mission based gameplay sucks. I feel like the devs couldn’t decide what genre they wanna be. They should have just copied the whole concept of DayZ and they would have been the successor of DayZ. I hope at least DayZ devs will add those extra animations.

It's usually not an issue in this game. Unless you play during off peak hours or live in a part of the world with very few servers.
