The proper way to use this lift is to set it on the locks, before you walk under the lifted load, or even at any height while lift is loaded. Then to lower, raise it off the locks, pull lock release to disengage and lower lift. See "Lighting it Right".
i wish they made this design, but a 2 post unit so you could service the center of the car. The raised part on the floor is not an issue, but the horizontal cross in the middle of the chassis is a deal breaker.
i know exactly what you mean, our boss bought 4 of the full size hgv ones to lift trucks 6 foot in the air and i'm fec#in glad he never got them to work cos they scared the crap outta me too.
I want this lift!!! I've been working on cars since I was old enough to pull myself up the grill, but I've never used a lift. I do alot of brake and suspension work for friends/family, and this would make it SO much easier. The only thing I'd be worried about is the support for the lift. How much pressure does it exert on each corner and what is it's lifting capacity? These are things that a person who would NEED a portable lift needs to know. Could I use it in a field with support pads?
Olá tenho pouco espaço e esse elevador me parece ser ideal ...gostaria de saber as dimensões dele Também se está disponível no Brasil, e quando custaria Hoje é 8/10/2023 Obrigado
Something like this would suit my needs perfectly. The only concern I have is the stability of the unit. If you where doing a clutch replacement with the unit full hoisted & you are working from underneath the vehicle. Maybe someone has another opinion.
With the crossmember going under the car to lift both sides at once, I'm not sure you even could do clutch/transmission work with this lift. You almost certainly couldn't remove the transmission on most cars.
you could not pay me to stand under that, there's a reason that most hoists are 2/4 post, single post is good for fuck all other than dropping cars on people
I have one for sale if anyone wants to make me an offer. Great condition only used for Automotive Reasearch and Development in a clean environment. Used maybe 6 times a year.
WoW! 10 YEARS AGO, AND JUST HEARING ABOUT THIS. And we don`t need dodos here. Just turn the car around, if you want to exit the drivers door. That was`t too hard to figure out. And this lift is`t going anywhere. You think you can tip over three-thousand-pounds. i`ll watch! The reason I mention this, is because I`v just designed something similar, for a different type of vehicle. Should have a high demand. Would love to market through, say, Harbor Freight. We `ll see. I just can`t believe this lift is`t more in widespread use today.
i went to a garage they that two of them but its so shit i cant describe it!!!!!! my car is 70mm lowered and i couldn't drive up it without damaging my bumper!!!!! when i finally got on my whole exhaust b section was scratched!!!!!!! when they lifted the car the whole thing was shaking like hell i thought my car will fell off (3 door civic) when the mechanic tried to louse a stuck nut...

good portable lift. there is a lot of underneath repair you can't do with a scissor lift obstructing the mechanic

I LOVE IT. I wish i had the money to buy it!!!
lefteris katrakazas î
That is nice and it would have me feeling better if it had arms to lock rest on the floor in case the hydraulics went out while up in the air.
una bella idea

perfect))
the practical use would be for boarder inspection and the sort. Use as a maintinace tool would be a pain in the ass.
looks good, but how do we get the exaust of?
Me interesa saber mas informacion y precio de la rampa
Hi, does it use regular house power?

Have fun when that thing tips over lol

Yep....portable....for when you’re out in the middle of nowhere and really need that oil change...you can just plug it into a tree.
Or always tow a giant solar panel.
I'm actually not shade tree >.> I went to a 2 year college for Automotive Technology!
I LIKE SHADE TREE.
awsome who do i call when it lets go and crushes me?

i would buy two at half price because it would take two to make a real hoist
Can it support heavy duty Pick up Trucks with 8,000 lbs axles? I guess NOT.
can it lift an American? probably not.
It looks portable to me.
Nie wszedłbym pod taki podnośnik

Try lifting my 4 ton duramax
Not sure I would trust that thing. And those screw pads seem a bit small.
these things scare the shit out of me. Id rather stack blocks than use this lol
"portable"
CalabreseMPC
considered most lifts are bolted to the ground and wired to the building. Yeah this is pretty portable.

You drop the car down and pick it up from the other side..
