Most of us understand what it means to have a new baby. It's cool. You don't need to explain yourself. We already like watching your videos and appreciate you. Thanks for what you do.
Zak going back and forth between gathering tinders and throwing it away in a drawer when he remembers he started with Fire Starting perk is funny. It's like a running gag of the challenge at this point. "how much tinder do I have?" "why am I carrying all this tinder?"
1:49:00 you still know that the second bear spawn is on unnamed pond, because you meet him allready. And I like the fact that after every break you get confused about the tinder thing…
Having a wee giggle over you thinking you need tinder when you fire-starting lvl 3. I've done this so many times in my games as well because of life distractions.
The salt peter and stump remover is probably something you'd want to gather in a run like this. If you make the gun powder, that's accelerant for emergency fires.
Would be cool if Hinterland added a mechanic where you could also just plain water. To be able to put warm water bottles in youw clothes and for the same effect as th warm foods and drinks already have.
I like this challenge. You got quite lucky with the wolf near the safe. I've started to take note of the important loot you find because I can't remember as well as you all the locations.
Note: You can only wear the Rabbit hat on the outside slot. Also note that you can cook the canned peaches as usual, and still use them in the peach pie or Lilly's pancakes recipes
Yep, I've been walking the dog for over a year. Your videos are always great, but I hate to tell you, you were upstaged on this topic. I have always wondered why wolves charged occasionally. Like you, I tend to push a bit far into my health sometimes, or carry sprains back to base and occasionally I have played for my hubris. Now I know. Just need to get my 500 in before they change animals. Cheers.

I have to be honest. This game is so much better if you dial down the wolves massively. Since my first custom run i've not gone back to the original difficulties. I get the obsessive, overly aggressive wolves are the main threat of the game, but it's just not interesting spending all your time dealing with wolves. I make everything as difficult as I can, especially loot abundance and weather. Does anyone else play it that way?
@sethblank3139 haha, as a bit of a hermit myself I HAD to turn cabin fever off as it's such an alien idea. There are FEWER wolves on interloper than stalker? I didn't know that. From the playthroughs I've seen, still seems high. I use low on my customs, which I think you'd need to drop down to Pilgrim to get. I agree on the guns too. It's reasonable that you'd find a rifle in a region like that, so I also add the rifle.
i usually like to take the challenge the creators made as it is, but i have to admit cabin fever drives me mad sometimes. however you should always play it the way if enjoy it the most. it is a game afterall...

I play custom with very long respawn time. So if you kill a wolf, you are worry free for at least a month
I eventually started to appreciate the wolves. after I stopped being afraid of them in my first play throughs, they become part of the puzzle of knowing map layouts/spawns, planning routes, and being prepared for the expected difficulties. And once you have cooking 5 they seriously become a major food source. I'm doing a 500 day attempt on stalker now.
At the time of me posting this comment, the video went down from Zak's UA-cam main page and also from my watch history for like five minutes and then back up....wierdddddd
You unlock a secret room with a radio that summons a rescue helicopter! Just kidding, nothing happens beyond bragging rights and that your survey tab says you have them all
Hello Zak! A while ago you asked us about things you say. Well, not sure if anyone has mentioned before, or if anyone's caught it, but every time you mention the transition zone between Coastal Highway and Desolation Point, you refer to it as Winding River instead of Crumbling Highway. Just thought I'd point that out lol
@@AmplifyChris it's only really an early game issue. Crafted torches makes the early game easier, but you need more matches and they don't work in the wind.

How.did u scare wolves without a torch, aiming a stone and having them fleeing away instead of attacking u? U took some deer corpses more than once doing this
Agreed, none drawn from fires only crafted. They would be very limited due to needing cloth and fuel so you probably couldn’t chain them at all. Then add to that not to be allowed flares or lantern..only crafted torches.

Love this episode. Crazy Canadian version of a Florida man running around shirtless in sub-zero blizzards hunting bears and moose. It's amazing.
It's Florida if they exchanged the meth for snow
When Zak says you need 8 arrows, just know that you actually need 36, probably. He's a Master

It definitely deserves an episode 3, and I hope it happens after the launching of part 4, and then we will see the gloves and sleeves🤞
Yay! Thanks for continuing the run….. can’t wait for #3. Maybe this will evolve into a 500 day. Lol

8:55 not sure I agree. You need oil and cloth to make torches. I don't think you'll be wasting those resources just to chain them.
The crafted torches a expensive as hell and the grabbed torches are so cheap. There is really an unbalance… grabbed torches shouldn’t be so OP.

It only concerns crafted clothing. In Outerloper, beds are an issue since you cant go indoors.
