I loved the one word in the scripture ...repent. Coupling that with taking off our sin filled robe and exchanging it for a white one while he takes the red one was a powerful lesson for me to visualize about repentance. Thank you so much!

I watch and listen to several different teachers every week. This week Ben Wilcox said he is related to you. I realize there are many who claim they don’t have time and for some that might be true. Often, I have my ear buds in as I go about my day. This week, among many gems throughout your lesson, the realization that the restored church included ALL PEOPLE, ALL COLORS, ALL CULTURES and pressure from outside the Church forced the negro exclusion that we have been accused of. Thank you for these lessons and for your diligence in the face of adversity. I can’t wait to study the Old Testament and I never thought I would ever say that. You have so beautifully connected us.

    Oh Brother Jared
I have been trying to get young and all people I come across come out of things that God doesn't like and want in his childrens lives, No it doesn't matter what faith your are in.
One person, hugged me and let me know that I Care more about her than family and herself.
And I give things that her child needs - not being told, sharing stories of the Book Of Mo
And teach her how to bake as she cooks other things for me.
I'm disabled and she is a great help to me and friend.
One of her Great Grand Mothers are in the Church, so I told her we are family in a way.
She is trying to stop smoking, and doing more things
Not that she was bad before, but she loves the Missionaries and the Church people who she meets .
And I tell my children that they need to continue to clean out the music and things that God doesn't want around him

Thank you another wonderful lesson. It made me think of President Nelson's talk on the need for repentance and that it's a wonderful gift I then wondered what the word "repent" means in Hebrew and Greek. Maybe someone will find this interesting: Hebrew: Teshuva is returning to what is right and pure. It is returning to innocence. Aside from showing regret and remorse, it is returning to the original plan of God. To live with Him, consult with Him, fellowship with Him, and obey Him. It is regretting our sin and showing remorse, yes. The Greek writers used the Greek word metanoeo to refer to repentance. Metanoeo means a change of mind, thought, or thinking so powerful that it changes one's very way of life. ... Both words mean thoroughly changing or turning from evil to God and righteousness.

At 21 you talk about Zion and babylon. I've never seen the difference until now. From this scripture Babylon is individual, selfish, disconnected. Zion is a body, a covenant collective with its epicenter being Christ, the heart and soul, the bread and water, rooted, together, connected, supported, supportive of one another, not divided, one in mind and body that cannot fall like an individual, a human, alone, swaying with every random thought man presents, unrooted in truth, uncovenanted, disconnected from the true vine and body of Christ.

On my mission in 1972 we responded to a referral that the church office in SLC received and forwarded to us in Albany Georgia.
It was from a 17 year old girl who had seen the Osmonds in a concert and found out they belonged to our church and wanted to know more about the church. We were very doubtful about the sincerity of the person because of her age. However we decided to check it out on one of our slow days.
I won't go into everything because it would take to long. What happened was truly incredible. She was so intent on learning more she went to the library and checked out a single copy of the D&C because that was all the had on the church. At the time we met with her she had copied 75 percent of the of the D&C into spiral binders by han because she was

Sorry I was interrupted I will finish about the girl in Georgia. She copied the D&C because she was afraid the library would not allow her to keep checking it out. As we walked up to the her house we could hear her saying in an excited voice "they came they came". She was almost crying as we started to talk to her.
The discussions became a formality to baptism three weeks later. My companion and I were both having a hard time holding back the tears when we left.

59:00 Aren't gathering and restoring two different ways of bringing the house of Israel back together?
As the tenth article of faith states...gathering, which started with beginning of the restoration and continues...but restoring the ten tribes will be different..they will come as a body as their prophets hear and come forth to help in the building of the New Jerusalem... their coming will be more miraculous than the parting of the Red Sea to save the Israelites...they will us prepare for the Glorious Return of our Savior.

    • @heidiwilkey7114

Lovingkindness is a word found in older, more traditional versions of the English Bible. The Hebrew word most often translated “lovingkindness” is checed, which literally means “covenant loyalty.”

To me, the last part about the slaves, about 2:20:00 hinges on the word "human beings" and the fact that governments allowed it. Wasn't one of the compromises that a slave was worth 3/5 of a person? They weren't even considered human beings by southerners. That has always comforted me about this, is the last line is a protest about the enslavement of human beings, no matter what their skin color.

As I was so interested in what you were teaching, I hardly noticed when your colleague left the room to have something to eat and drink, leaving me alone to listen to your monologue. When I asked you to stop for a few moments, you just carried on speaking. Then I realised that you hadn't even heard my request. I had in fact become dumb as I tried to scream out "please shut up". Then I realised that you weren't even speaking. When you entered my home, unnoticed by me, you had plugged in some sort of audio device. In desperation, I pulled at the tangle of wires trying to get it unplugged. Finally, I woke from this nightmare with a much clearer understanding why the suggested time for a home teaching visit was 20 minutes !! 🙂 I don't know how much I missed. I woke up at 2 hours 24 minutes. (I won't watch the rest).

He’s talking about the return of the 10 from the great deep which is the sky. The 10 lost tribes (not the scattered) were led away north to the outermost part of heaven. Why does no one talk about the Lost Tribes that were led away? We only talk about the gathering of the scattered. Blows my mind no one knows this.

    • @sandrahurst4123
      @sandrahurst4123 2 роки тому

I think it’s because we are asked to bring people to Christ; to gather Israel. The 10 Lost Tribes are not in our jurisdiction, so to speak. Our focus needs to be on those who are within our ability to teach, influence for good, and share the gospel message. Someone else is in charge of the 10, regardless of where they are hidden.

@@Jo145330 for those that seek, there are incredibly miraculous things that we will see with the return of the 10 tribes. I’m not quite sure why it’s so hard to believe that they will return on flying wheels in the sky (space ships) each bearing the face of each group of 3 tribes. Judah (lion) Dan (Eagle) Ruben (man) and Joseph (ox) it’s literally telling us that the lost 10 will come back from the great deep in a Highway in the sky. Yet even the greatest of scriptorium won’t even look at it. Why is it easy to believe that god can take up the whole city of Enoch yet there is no way he leads the 10 tribes to a different planet at the end of heaven?

    Brother Halverson,
Thank you for your work in spreading the Gospel. I sincere appreciate you and I am thankful I found you!🙏🏽
for section 132 I had to listen carefully to you Bcs I was wondering how you’d present it . I have been quite judgmental about plural marriage and have perceived it as fornication on steroids when it came to David and Solomon, pardon me.
    And
I actually thought it was abusive of the prophetic gift of Joseph. However, I made my peace within myself by believing that these patriarchs and prophet were just following HF’s commandments. And I thank you for presenting it like you did.
But, with section 134:12, my question is (since the church has made many changes to the D&C)
Why do we have to keep hearing these contradictions about black people and throw salt into the wounds; especially nowadays when the white supremacists have been emboldened by the previous administration?!
Those passages and some in the BOM need to go or be changed if we are to welcome more blacks in the true spirit of our Lord!
I don’t believe that we were cursed with dark skins Bcs of transgressions!
When I look up at the ratio of blacks to whites , it is so minimal at least here in the USA.
I also believe that we, LDS, are missing out on a great number of righteous brothers and sisters!!!
I find it sad. Help me understand Bro. Halverson.

Concerning D&C 134 I agree we must be very careful about dishonoring the station. When we have no respect for the person and their apparent lack of character and integrity is it difficult to not dishonor the station as well?
How do we judge righteously those whose actions and words are under the public microscope daily? Do we seek to influence others to “…take advantage of one because of his words…”? Do we support those who “…dig a pit for their neighbor”?
We are all responsible to our Maker who “…will abundantly pardon” and may we do the same and not imply a disrespect for the station through our own words and actions.

Brother Halverson, I am trying to reference the quote you gave from Elder Neal Maxwell a few weeks ago. I believe you said he gave it at a BYU address and he mentioned paraphrasing, that now that he is delivering the message, he is no longer accountable for the information, he has done his job and now the accountablity has shifted to the audience. Where can I find that quote?
