That Five-Seven is one ol' beater! Can't have been cheap - even a four-door beater Five-Seven has got to be in demand, and they only made so many of them.
This is picture perfect youtube. Grass roots, breaking new ground, low stakes, high return, and repeatable for home viewers that want to give it a shot themselves.
Father and son builds......excellent. every hot rod dads dream........ Its great to see you doing an alternative route to simply swapping in 8 pot power assistance......... you guys have done a lot of work and developement on the 6 and it sounds awsome going down the track...... All the best with the build, we will definately keep our eye on it.....
Thanks for the video I love it it's insane already yeah cool I can't build cars anymore cuz I'm a geezer but I sure enjoy your Channel I'll keep watching keeps me inspired
Someone protect this man. Watching this channel is such an enjoyable experience every single time. Just people doing what they love and sharing their stories with the world.
Looking forward to following such an interesting and different build. Not to mention the fact that its a tri five. Good to see youre back at it with some old/new school stuff as part of your continuing recovery. Props. And absolutely try to make it to the tri five nats you wont regret going. My buddy and i travel 1800 miles each way from eastern canada in his 55 and havent missed a year(except for covid boarder closures). Truly a must do event for any tri five gearhead.
It isn't often enough that you are the lead in these videos so it is great that you are today, as you said your health is improving, being older than you I know our resilience to recover takes longer. I wish you & your family good luck & health for the New year (& don't eat yellow snow) From the deep south New Zealand Kiwi Rod
It's good to see you out in the garage working on really cool projects with your family. Merry Christmas to you and yours. Hope to visit one of the drag and drive events this coming year. I talked to Calvin at drag way 42 in Ohio a few years ago.
I’m liking this project already. Ever since Calvin has been building the Atlas 4.2 liter I’ve thought of 2 cars that if I had the money I would l want Calvin to build. The first one would be a 68-72 Nova sedan and the second would be a 66-67 Chevell 4 door sedan. And make them a daily driver go anywhere car with lots of power.
Those would make for cool drivers. I know a lady who has been daily driving a '66 4 door Chevelle she inherited for 20+ years. It's a basic 6cyl powerglide post car, all stock & original with a repaint in the original teal, the thing just keeps on running. I've heard those old GM inline sixes run forever but they're not exactly powerhhouses. An Atlas swap into one of those would make for a more drivable car in 2024 traffic while keeping it a GM inline six, and if you added forced induction you'd really have a fun sleeper...
This is going to be cool. I'm definitely NOT a tri-5 guy, or even a Chevy guy, but this one really gets me excited! I see you're starting with a nice rustfree PA car
Y’all guys are a great family love the content. It wouldn’t matter if you guys put out content on red wagons I think you’re great people. I would like to meet y’all guys someday because y’all do the type of stuff I would love to do merry Christmas.
Heck yeah! I was most excited for the supra build but now I'm all in on the tri5. Such a cool idea! Can't wait for the next installment on the build. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Watching you and Calvin pulling the front end off before it went into the shop made me realize how strong you have gotten again! Glad you are getting a chance to build a bucket list car! Merry Christmas to you and your family!!!
DD Speedshop mentioned! This channel probably has the most information on 4200 swaps, would consider doing a swap for a 1st gen silverado/sierra with that motor from a v6, it'll still be a 6 cylinder truck!
0:11 gentlemen, in stall a cheap winch on the floor towards the back of the garage, power it however you feel. Save your back and much safer. Plus, you can move cars in and out by yourself.
Agreed. Seems to work out well for NoNonsenseKnowHow. You should be able to just hook up a car battery connected to a trickle charger assuming it's not being used all day long.
Merry Christmas right back at ya sir! I don't have any tri-five memories to share, when I was a yoot back in the 70-80's, my passion was AMC first, then Mopar..and now Ford.Go figure. Never been a Chevy guy in any way shape or form. 😁 So why have I been subbed to this channel for the last half decade or so? It's you guys! I'd watch you guys wrench on lawn tractors or kitchen plumbing. It's a pleasure to be entertained & taught new stuff, particularly when the instructors are such nice folks...one of these years I'll finish up my own project, and I look forward to meeting the Nelson family at the track.. Thanks for all the years of inspiring content, may your holidays be awesome!
WOW...i had a feeling Nivlac stood for something fairly benign but obvious at the same time, while i never realized it was just Calvin spelled backwards lol... Kind of like the Mortal Kombat II character Noob Saibot (backward spellings of Ed Boon and John Tobias, the originators of many Midway hits)
Have you considered calling this project Y, because that's the question your going to hear most often ( why did I you do this, why did you do that). Cool twist on putting a roots style blower in a tri 5. Merry Christmas to you and your family as well. ✌😁
14:16 Amen Sir. Jesus is the reason for All seasons Sir. And a Merry Christmas to you and the whole family. Eddie Patterson Silverstreet South Carolina.
Getting ready to retire? That's wonderful. This channel does have some very unique builds and I am ready for it. I want to wish you and your family a Merry Christmas. Good Luck and God Bless.
Awesome. I wish I had bought the Whipple for my Envoy when they had it catalogued. Only lasted for a short time until they removed it. Drivetrain issues with the 8.0 rear. Looking forward to your progress.
It's just awesome seeing you guys do a 57 chevy. It's my dream car. I wanted a blown 454 but after seeing what the 4200 is capable of. I might have to change up my thinking of a power plant. It's going to be very cool seeing what comes of this car over time.
Yep, merry Christmas everyone! I've only ever ridden in a 57 once in my life for about 2 blocks. A guy living next door to me had one for about week, and one morning he was going to work so I ran outside and asked him if I could ride just 2 blocks and that I would walk back, it was worth every step....😂
Always wanted a '57 since I saw Project X in Popular Hot Rodding. Eventually bought a four-door when I was 24, along with two extra front doors. Lengthened the front doors, moved the posts back and welded the rears up. Moved the leaf springs inboard and fitted 10 inch Weld Wheels at the back, 8 inch in front. Dropped her on the floor, spent months block sanding it and painted her black...drove her for five years and then stupidly swapped her for a Harley. Good times!
Your mileage may vary, but I think you will be putting a cooler in the intake earlier than you'd plan. Granted my m122 is on an lq4 but I ran it for 2yrs without a cooler and it ran about as fast as an NA lq4. They are good blowers when you put a cooler after them but even on 8psi mine would max out the IAT past the 330ft mark. You might be ok with 100 less cubes but I picked up 2 seconds in the 1/4 by just tossing a cooler in the manifold. Either way cool build and it should still be fun without a cooler but I was surprised how much heat the m122 made.
Congrats on your bucket list car! I also have always loved the 57 body style and look forward to watching your build progress. You guys do some amazing work, one of my favorite channels!
don't feel too dated, my first car back in high school was a 54 Olds when I was 16...in 2005 lol. sold it in 2013 and was lucky enough to buy it back at the end of 2019. has a 350 smallblock in it right now but I'd like to do an atlas 5cyl turbo in it eventually
Merry Christmas to you, your family and everyone else who's reading!
Merry Christmas to you and your family too!
Merry Christmas, and happy holidays!
A roots blown, Atlas motored, tri-5 4 door, drag n drive. Never a dull idea between your ears and love it!
I believe the M122 is a screw not a roots. What you said stays they same though, love this channel
Oh boy this is Gonna Be Great! So Much torque. Merry Christmas 🎅 everyone!
I just started watching the video but AWESOME seeing the 57 getting worked on!!
Very excited to see this build play out. Good to see Pops happy.
That Five-Seven is one ol' beater!
Can't have been cheap - even a four-door beater Five-Seven has got to be in demand, and they only made so many of them.

finally a supercharger build I'm so excited!!!
This is such a cool project. Can't wait to see it come together!

All the best with the build, we will definately keep our eye on it.....
I always piss people off, but I love anything that is not mainstream. The 4.2 is def original, and a classic 58 Chevy is sexy!!!
Looking forward to watching this build
I like how you removed the front clip.
Merry Christmas to the Nelson family
Thanks for the video I love it it's insane already yeah cool I can't build cars anymore cuz I'm a geezer but I sure enjoy your Channel I'll keep watching keeps me inspired

I've wanted to do a 4200 since the late '00s .. Love the Vids .. thanks for the effort!!

A project with apeal ,I am loving all the intest in the 4200 sixes
I’m liking this project already.

Hell yea, love the oddball builds!
This is going to be cool. I'm definitely NOT a tri-5 guy, or even a Chevy guy, but this one really gets me excited!

Can't wait!, it's going to sound amazing!.
These are the videos I like keep them coming please
Keep at it, Pops!
great stuff, i love all the builds!
Merry Christmas!! To you and yours! I'll be along for the ride
Best of luck! Happy holidays!
Y’all guys are a great family love the content. It wouldn’t matter if you guys put out content on red wagons I think you’re great people. I would like to meet y’all guys someday because y’all do the type of stuff I would love to do merry Christmas.
I don't usually go for them but, I think a roof rack would be really cool on that car for some reason.
Can’t wait to see, this Is going to sound cool!
Heck yeah! I was most excited for the supra build but now I'm all in on the tri5. Such a cool idea! Can't wait for the next installment on the build. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Please do a 6-1 equal length header and let that 4200 sing!
I really enjoy your channel, you two are an inspirtion to us all in the pursuit of our racing addiction. Thank you both!
Now this is a cool idea!
running methanol on the secondary fuel system is great thinking, i always wanted to do something like that, proper methanol multiport
AWESOME!! a lag less supercharger will make it a nice car to cruise around in.
Watching you and Calvin pulling the front end off before it went into the shop made me realize how strong you have gotten again! Glad you are getting a chance to build a bucket list car! Merry Christmas to you and your family!!!

May God Bless You All. Don't go too hard on your self with the number of projects for UA-cam.
Hell yeah was a little bummed you decided to turbo the Supra but this makes up for it. Can’t wait to hear it scream down the track
Bad ass Dad!! I'm very happy to see you're getting better and excited to see this!
These builds keep getting better and better! Looking forward to this one 👍
Blower Life lets gooooooooo!!!

You have a great taste in old cars. Definitely enjoy the builds you do keep up the good work guys!

Cool twist on putting a roots style blower in a tri 5. Merry Christmas to you and your family as well. ✌😁
The hole in the trunk looks like a leaky battery sat there for too long.... perfect size hole.
Merry Christmas to the nivlac57 family looking forward to this project

Seems fitting that Nivlac57 is building a 57. 😎
Now with 57K subs.

4200VORTC SWAP ALL THINGS!!

Excellent presentation. Thank you very much.
Always enjoy the ride, glad your doing better, love your videos. I owned a '57 more door also. Merry Christmas to you all too
ayyy supercharged? And look at all the space you got to work with!
Poppa Niv made it to the thumbnail and I clicked instantly. Thank you for these videos guys.
Nice choice, guys! I'm a '57 too...☺
Awesome project! Excited to follow your progress. :)
Love the project.
shout out to DD speed shop!
Psyched for this build. Been wanting to do a tri 5 for a while. Interested in how you mount it, accessories etc.
your dad is super cool dude
don't feel too dated, my first car back in high school was a 54 Olds when I was 16...in 2005 lol. sold it in 2013 and was lucky enough to buy it back at the end of 2019. has a 350 smallblock in it right now but I'd like to do an atlas 5cyl turbo in it eventually
cant wait to see what you go with this
glad to see you doing as well as you are Andy
These projects are always exciting to watch
