The opening of Act II was one of those memorable moments in my theatre-going experiences that had me jumping in my seat. (Along with "70 Girls 70" and "Follies".) I had just moved to NYC and this was the first show my friends there took me to see. At the time, I knew nothing about the show . . . and I was blown away. I saw the Larry Kert version, but this original cast was amazing - in my memory banks never being quite surpassed by any revivals. This version was not quite as crisp as I remember the original (everyone being some 20+ years older), but all the joy came flooding back. Thanks for finding this. et

Not at all "tiring" to me (quoting rodanvideo). Yeah, maybe "sort-of haphazard", but the cast still played it with such conviction that it worked wonderfully for me. Dean Jones was great but I really miss Larry Kert (I saw him do it and he was a friend). Thanks rodanvideo--I love your uploads.

Is Beth the one with the long hair (it's hard to tell)? Whoever that is, her hair makes her stand out and look much younger than the others just because they all have shorter (or pulled up) graying hair, ha. I love this clip and the OBC! Ah, Company

I wonder why Elaine can't keep up. I mean, it's not like she had stopped performing at that point (far from it, she was in the Harold Prince revival of Showboat the next year).
Wasen't Elaine in her 70's at this point? Choreography like this and the energy needed to perform it is a big ask for a person in their 60s let alone someone in their 70s. I think she did a marvelous job.

I saw the original Broadway production, and this is very close to what I remember as the original choreography, adjusted for the actor's ages.

It's Dean Jones!! A superbe singer! He was in OBC to perform company, I saw him with Ellaine Stritch in 1970 and others of OCB.

Elaine stritch was a smoker and no spring chicken at this point. Saw her in Company on broadway in 1971 and she had no problem keeping up
