The way my parents raised me is NOT the way I’m raising my future kids. Ever. No spankings. No false accusations. No put-downs.

The whole “tiger mom” style is borderline abusive and unhealthy for the kiddo

I think parents should be chimpanzee-like mothers; let your child climb trees and lots of affection. Ah, also let the children find their food.

Literally the best way to raise a child imo like do you really want them to strive in community or this world? Smhh

These comments are so ignorant. Y'all talking like this type of mother, literally nothing but a supportive mother, only exists in fairy tales.. and that's really sad.. maybe y'all needed more love too.

My mother was tiger mom too but it had the opposite effect on me because then I learnt to stop trying for everything and to stop caring because it was too much pressure on me to be great at everything. My older sister had the opposite effect where she did excel in school and college but now she has anxiety attacks when she gets something wrong. I do not believe in tiger parenting AT ALL.
I think to be a free-thinker you have to have an element of stubbornness. Tiger moms are basically beating the stubbornness out of their kids.

“Drums lead to drugs.” I just asked my dad who played the base drum in the marching band all throughout his time in high school and was the drum major his senior year if he’s ever done one single drug in his life. He said no.

My mom is like a tiger mom but never pushed me with academics. I pushed myself to graduate school. But now at 24 years old, her overbearing parenting has resulted in me calling her once a month and not wanting her to be a part of my life.

No one talks about black parenting, but a dolphin mom? R u serious??.......Well if that's the case, my black mom is a dinosaur, more specifically a T-rex mom. She just eats me alive for no reason and then spits me back out. That's how I feel everyday when I'm around her.

My mom was a relaxed caring mom. When i was young she taught me a lot when it came to academics and gave me lots of outlets and resources to adventure and learn. Now that I'm a teenager she let's me lead my own life as long as I'm not hurting myself of anyone else. I have an A B average, I've never smoked or done any type of drugs and I have my own views on important subjects that just aren't taught in school. We will call this bird parenting for the sake of animal references. You nourish your kids as children, give them tools and teach them then when they grow you can watch them become successful without watching them like a hawk. I tell my mom everything and she's truly one of my best friends that's the kind of relationship I think parents should have with their kids because then when they do bad things they'll come to you because they can trust you. I've watched so many of my friends freak out over B's because their parents are tiger parents and it's sad your kids shouldn't be afraid of you, that's why they shut you out of their lives.

Calling a child or for that matter an adult or any person demanding nouns or adjectives such as "garbage" is completely wrong and completely unacceptable and verbally and emotionally abusive and verbal and emotional abuse can have harmful effects on children, no person and no child is garbage either so telling a child they are that is completely untrue as well.

I feel like there is a balance kids need discipline of some kind but if it's just discipline and forcing your daughter to learn the piano instead of drums because as a percussionists I can say that I am drug free and I am in the marching and jazz ensembles on my school. We also need to be nice and loving to the kids it's a balance discipline and kindness and most i.portant patience

    Mmmm
It's sounds like discipline works best of all.
    Go Tiger mom.
Sounds like the dolphin mom should stop trying to be her kid's friend and lion mom should be more directly involved -- someone "in your pride" handling the cubs while you're busy with something else isn't good enough.

    • @FunFilmFare
      @FunFilmFare 2 роки тому +1

Lion cub here. Most “Lion moms” are less involved with their kids is because of lower family income. They don’t have rich husbands making a single income to let them quit work and stay home with the kids.

@@FunFilmFare I do agree with you. But I also know moms & dads too busy trying to be friends with their kids instead of parents.

  • @missxmarvel

Better a tiger mom than an overprotective mom. They are worst of the worst, not only are they paranoid but also lazy, they think keeping their children inside of the house keeps them safe and they give zero in return aslong as they shush the paranoid thoughts in their heads then it doesn’t matter that you are in pain or sad that you can’t be like other friends. Overprotective parents give nothing in return just a false security that you are protected from the world while you should have been protected from your parents.
Tiger moms might seem bad but at least they are successful and straight A students.
I would consider myself a Dolphin mom. Strict but also want you to rest. Resting is the ying to your successful careers yang.

These Asian children maybe better at anything, but they have a depression that she hides and I know these kinds of parenting maybe good but for children, it is too brutal. I'm not a mom, not even a girl but I'm concerned about it, I'm an Asian, a Filipino man. I see some of the kids in my country are so happy but it makes me sad because some of the Asian kids don't have a smile like that. I don't even care that it is a better solution. Maybe it is, but it has some bad consequence both mental and social health. But it is only my opinion not a comment of criticism. Back to the topic, tinder parenting is sometimes necessary but not always because it can damage someone's childhood memories. Imagine a mom with that kind of childhood trying to think something that she can tell about her childhood but all of that fades because she already forgotten it thanks to her parents with that kind of parenting idea. If I had a chance to say this to those cruel parents, I would, you may have a good and happy childhood but please make sure your kids have it too, do not destroy theirs because they can use it to tell to their kids in their future that they had a good happy life in their young age.
