More behind the scenes building a prawn shrimp net to go through the rocks and weed. Facebook : / trojsfishing Support + Extra Content : / trojsfishing
Nice one Troy! I was thinking about making one but I need to source some net. I've got some 20mm x 3mm long strips of aluminium somewhere so was planning on using that for the hoop. It could be drilled & bolted to the handle then, or if I could find the right thread, it could be made to screw into an existing landing net handle. Thanks mate - stay safe & well. 👍👍
cheers troj nice upload again ....that looked strong enough to lift a whale let alone shrimp and prawns ....you should try aluminium rod if you can get it you can bend and shape it any way you like take care stay safe until the next one ...
I've seen people use super large fish tank nets that are like 12" x 8" Rectangle shape on a stick for prawning at night because the thin frame & fine netting is easy to push through the water with a 12" deep net.
Different nets work the fine nets can tear easier around here on the rocks and barnacles and on the sand need to make sure the sand/shingle can get through the net.
@@Trojwaterman Cool, you know what's best anyway, was just adding possible other choices but if they are no good for your area then they are no good lol, not to worry. I kind of was hoping to see you use it but suddenly the video ended lol.
Do you see evidence of condensation in engine oil in your Honda outboards? Im getting milky oil around the dipstick tube and oil fill cap with the start of winter fishing season. 40-45 deg. weather here and 42 deg. water. Wonder if this is a common issue???
I have never had that problem on any of my Hondas. The lowest the waters get here is about 48 and the boat is out the water when its very cold here as we get far to many storms by then.
Make catch and cook, great video buddy, thanks 🎣🐟🐟👍👍👍👍
There is no end to your repertoire 😁 Brilliant & satisfying to keep traditional crafting skills alive. That net will last 1000 years👍

Some good little tips there Troy, will definitely try the band over my ormer hook for 2021, good informative video mate
Hi Troy, would the prawns/shrimps still be around now, or is the water too cold ?
Thanks also for your great content, love your vids.

Got to be strong for those giant prawns :-)
Nice. But I'd be careful with your selection of disc for your grinder. It can be unpleasant when they explode.
I believe some high tensile blades are banned here for that very reason

@@Trojwaterman Thanks for the input.Beginning to look like I might need to make it a "parts motor"
