I personally think Poppy is the daughter of Elliot Ludwig. I mean, she knows everything about the factory and we know all of the experiments started for her when she died. Probably Elliot started the experiments to bring her back to life, even if it was another body. This was why she was in that cage, because Elliot didn’t want his daughter to get hurt anymore and put her there to not loose her again. That’s why she’s helping the player. Because she feels guilty all of this started for her (Love the animation)
Despite 'Poppy' sacrificing herself for the chance of her friend living, I can't help but think that he had no idea that *that* was her intention. The last look of absolute betrayal he gave her will never fail to make my heartache.

Poppy's backstory was so heart touching. She sacraficed herself for her friend. Only the most loyal friends would do that. This shows that she cares about him alot. This story is so sad and heart touching yet it is a masterpiece

this story makes me cry over and over again. This little girl is very brave and kind. She understood perfectly well what awaited her, she knew that pain awaited her, but she decided to sacrifice herself for the sake of the boy, she is a true friend, now just think about it, this is just an animation, but imagine if it was in reality? this animation has a lot of meaning and morality, this girl is a hero, low bow to the author 😭💗

I feel bad that all the children from the orphanage have to face something that normal kids don't. Then again, in the game the pink tape Stella says that "You grow old, and then you die." Theory: What if the boy knew about the experiments all along? When the girl locks him in the room saving him, he seems to act a bit over-the-top. Then when he looks through the window and sees her happily going with the mother, there's no way he could actually know what was instantly about to happen. She might've just been talking to her! So, the look of dread on his face is, in my opinion, a bit much for someone who doesn't know about the experiments. He then INSTANTLY runs to the window expecting to see her, seeing her being taken away. It might've just been a guess, but the fact he'd assume she was going to be there was a bit suspicious. The look of absolute despair he gives her when she walks away is realistic, considering in his POV it'd be like she was trying to leave him without the hard goodbye. But, I think there's more to it than that. When they play hide-and-seek for the first time and he's under the table, when she finds him, he makes her fluster because he strokes her fringe to the side. I think the reason he might've done it is because he recognises how similar she looks to the Poppy doll and that her fringe is the same. He would've wanted her to look at least a little bit different if he knows about the experiments. It's expected that someone would want someone looking like the doll to become her, so that may be in an action to spare her. If he did know about it all, that would honestly explain his very dramatic facial expressions and actions. He probably found out about it somehow, and when he saw that the girl was sad after not being adopted, he decided to be her friend so she wouldn't want to leave, therefore wouldn't want to be adopted, therefore wouldn't turn out to be an experiment! Edit: I just want to thank everyone for all of the likes! This is my first comment to blow up so much in such a short span of time! Ou ele está assim pelo simples fato de que ele seria o próximo, do msm jeito ela devia querer que ele se salvasse, mas mal sabia qie iam inventar uma criatura chamada popy usando o garoto, tem esse ponto, e que ele já sabia disso, ent ele ia fazer o msm com ela, mas n deu tempo, e a garota já quis ser transformada logo, para que o garoto vivesse um pouco mais, e talvez tivesse como fugir de algum jeito
This is legendary. The ending is absolutely heart breaking, the fact that the boy thought the girl betrayed him and left for a new family while the girl sacrificed herself despite knowing that this will make the boy hate her and cause her endless pain is just tragic
Maybe he knew about the experiment and was about to escape with her but time wasn't enough and she was taken away and he came back to save her that's why there was a scene at the end of the previous video.
i think the most tragic thing about this story is the fact that the boy didn't know anything about the experiments. only the girl found out and saved him, but maybe in the boy's view she just betrayed him in a way. it's heartbreaking
I remember watching this when it first came out and boy it feels so nostalgic but I love it so much! The art is still as wonderful as I remember, the animation is still as spectacular as I remember, and everything just makes it beautiful! I will forever love this. (Also why is the music still kinda a banger though?)
Imagine how tragic it would be if the mini huggy wuggy that she let the scientists experimented on was the boy all along. That somehow makes the 1st part even more tragic and heart wrenching
coming back to this after chapter 3... it's actually scary how accurate the general story of this animation turned out to be to the canon story of poppy playtime
Honestly, Poppy isn't cruel, she just wants to save the person she loves the most, she'd rather be a doll than let him die. In general, Poppy is not evil, she has her own pain, although she stands to help her friend, but inside she is very desperate and hopes someone can stand up to erase the cruelty of this cruel person. Innocent children have turned into emotionless dolls just because of them. I don't think Poppy is evil. It was only after going through so much loss and heartbreak that she could go crazy. If she can go back to the innocent girl she used to be, her pain and suffering will be less, and if someone can make her lose her memory, I hope so too because that's the reason. do. it might help her feel better and forget the painful memory.
I love the story and song it fits so well. She looks so pretty in this too with the drawing style. The saddest thing is not only the fact she sacrificed her own life to save her friend, making it seem like betrayal for him, finding out that instead of adoption is a fate worse then death is that if she told him there's no doubt that he wouldn't let her do it if he knew what was to come. She did it to protect him in the long run. Biggest act of loyalty to a friend right there, sadly i dont think that kid would make it either, knowing the adoption would fake it just to experiment on kids using false hope is cruel. God this was so powerful. It made me feel so much at once. I hope the boy found out eventually what happened and that she wasn't betraying him, but saving his life. Poor Poppy girl.. she must've been terrified of what will happen to her, we saw her envision all the horrible things the Cat Bee girl had to go through and she knew she would have to as well. But she did it because she wanted to save her best friend :(

Everyone time I come back to watch this video, I always cry. This video shows the characters love for eachother and the story so well. Combine that with the sad music and I can barely hold it. Amazing job.

ok so heres some small details that i find just really cool, since it all adds to the story here.. 0:22 - The girl that is taken in this scene is turned into the BeeCat (i forgot its name-) and in this clip, she has the toy as a keychain on her backpack 0:24 - Poppy is standing alone in the back, by a row of poppy flowers. In the next clip, shes drawing the same flowers over and over, in the actual game, theres a Poppy Flower spray painted on a door as well. 0:22 - this scene again, ik, but look at the orphan house sign. Notice the words-“with Stella mommy” this doesnt make much sense now, but look over to 1:10 where the heart sign on the door says “MOMMY” this is the woman who is taking kids and making them into toys, she also owns the orphanage so the kids can’t actually be adopted. Which means that this woman’s name is Stella, and the children refer to her as their mother. 1:40 - Behind the boy, on the right, theres writing in blood that says, “THIS ISNT MY B0DY” which further gives Orphan Poppy proof that these kids were being turned into toys against their will. 1:16 - OKAY 2 THINGS HERE- 1. On Stella’s name tag it says her name, also proving one if the other points. 2. The picture with the BeeCat that says, “My newborn Kitten ❤️” Basically this woman thinks of the toys as her own children still, especially since THERES A LIVING SOUL IN IT :) so anyways thanks for reading if u read all of this 💀 This animation was super interesting, and so it the game! Great Job!
Theory: In one of the tapes, they were talking about the 'orphans'. which is most likely the toys. in one of GH'S vids, at the attack on titan parody, when the player slashes through huggy, you see a boy, who has black hair, and the same clothes as in the first few minutes of the vid. and huggy's purpose is to protect poppy, which pretty much explains it. and when you open poppy's case, she doesn't sound disappointed. she sounds rather relaxed. also, you are a former employee in Playtime. which is why they seem so angry at you. and the 'don't die yet' that you see in the death screen, mightve been poppy. and the 'stella' in the pink tape is maybe the old woman. Poppy looks around 7-10 to have that voice. nice vid :)))

Now this story fits in. Like when you think about it, the people used as experiments to bring the toys to life could also be the orphans. The Stella theory makes sense, but this one with Poppy being an orphan, Stella being involved in the experiments, and Poppy possessing a doll looking like her could be true, too. Great animation btw!

this story makes me cry over and over again. This little girl is very brave and kind. She understood perfectly well what awaited her, she knew that pain awaited her, but she decided to sacrifice herself for the sake of the boy, she is a true friend, now just think about it, this is just an animation, but imagine if it was in reality? this animation has a lot of meaning and morality, this girl is a hero, low bow to the author 😭💗
마지막에 파피를 바라보는 남자아이는 파피가 자신을 일부러 가둬두고 파피가 고아원을 나서는 모습을 보고 배신감에 저런 표정을 지은게 아닐까 싶다 그리고 그 표정을 본 파피는 상처 받았지만 그 방법만이 남자아이를 살리는 유일한 방법이였겠지..

After seeing chapter 3 and knowing this was made even before CHAPTER 2. It is SCARY NOW KNOWING HOW ACCURATE THIS WAS TO THE ORIGINAL STORY-
Theory: What if the boy knew about the experiments all along?
When the girl locks him in the room saving him, he seems to act a bit over-the-top. Then when he looks through the window and sees her happily going with the mother, there's no way he could actually know what was instantly about to happen. She might've just been talking to her!
So, the look of dread on his face is, in my opinion, a bit much for someone who doesn't know about the experiments. He then INSTANTLY runs to the window expecting to see her, seeing her being taken away.
It might've just been a guess, but the fact he'd assume she was going to be there was a bit suspicious.
The look of absolute despair he gives her when she walks away is realistic, considering in his POV it'd be like she was trying to leave him without the hard goodbye. But, I think there's more to it than that.
When they play hide-and-seek for the first time and he's under the table, when she finds him, he makes her fluster because he strokes her fringe to the side. I think the reason he might've done it is because he recognises how similar she looks to the Poppy doll and that her fringe is the same. He would've wanted her to look at least a little bit different if he knows about the experiments. It's expected that someone would want someone looking like the doll to become her, so that may be in an action to spare her.
If he did know about it all, that would honestly explain his very dramatic facial expressions and actions. He probably found out about it somehow, and when he saw that the girl was sad after not being adopted, he decided to be her friend so she wouldn't want to leave, therefore wouldn't want to be adopted, therefore wouldn't turn out to be an experiment!

This is legendary. The ending is absolutely heart breaking, the fact that the boy thought the girl betrayed him and left for a new family while the girl sacrificed herself despite knowing that this will make the boy hate her and cause her endless pain is just tragic
Maybe he knew about the experiment and was about to escape with her but time wasn't enough and she was taken away and he came back to save her that's why there was a scene at the end of the previous video.

I remember watching this when it first came out and boy it feels so nostalgic but I love it so much! The art is still as wonderful as I remember, the animation is still as spectacular as I remember, and everything just makes it beautiful! I will forever love this. Honestly, Poppy isn't cruel, she just wants to save the person she loves the most, she'd rather be a doll than let him die. In general, Poppy is not evil, she has her own pain, although she stands to help her friend, but inside she is very desperate and hopes someone can stand up to erase the cruelty of this cruel person. Innocent children have turned into emotionless dolls just because of them. I don't think Poppy is evil. It was only after going through so much loss and heartbreak that she could go crazy. If she can go back to the innocent girl she used to be, her pain and suffering will be less, and if someone can make her lose her memory, I hope so too because that's the reason. do. it might help her feel better and forget the painful memory.

I love the story and song it fits so well. She looks so pretty in this too with the drawing style. The saddest thing is not only the fact she sacrificed her own life to save her friend, making it seem like betrayal for him, finding out that instead of adoption is a fate worse then death is that if she told him there's no doubt that he wouldn't let her do it if he knew what was to come. She did it to protect him in the long run. Biggest act of loyalty to a friend right there, sadly i dont think that kid would make it either, knowing the adoption would fake it just to experiment on kids using false hope is cruel. They probably will later use him for a different experiment. Glad this video has so many views-

ok so heres some small details that i find just really cool, since it all adds to the story here..
0:22 - The girl that is taken in this scene is turned into the BeeCat (i forgot its name-) and in this clip, she has the toy as a keychain on her backpack
0:24 - Poppy is standing alone in the back, by a row of poppy flowers. In the next clip, shes drawing the same flowers over and over, in the actual game, theres a Poppy Flower spray painted on a door as well.
0:22 - this scene again, ik, but look at the orphan house sign. Notice the words-“with Stella mommy” this doesnt make much sense now, but look over to 1:10 where the heart sign on the door says “MOMMY” this is the woman who is taking kids and making them into toys, she also owns the orphanage so the kids can’t actually be adopted. Which means that this woman’s name is Stella, and the children refer to her as their mother.
1:40 - Behind the boy, on the right, theres writing in blood that says, “THIS ISNT MY B0DY” which further gives Orphan Poppy proof that these kids were being turned into toys against their will.
1:16 - OKAY 2 THINGS HERE- 1. On Stella’s name tag it says her name, also proving one if the other points. 2. The picture with the BeeCat that says, “My newborn Kitten ❤️” Basically this woman thinks of the toys as her own children still, especially since THERES A LIVING SOUL IN IT :) so anyways thanks for reading if u read all of this 💀 This animation was super interesting, and so it the game! Great Job!

Theory:
In one of the tapes, they were talking about the 'orphans'. which is most likely the toys. in one of GH'S vids, at the attack on titan parody, when the player slashes through huggy, you see a boy, who has black hair, and the same clothes as in the first few minutes of the vid. and huggy's purpose is to protect poppy, which pretty much explains it. and when you open poppy's case, she doesn't sound disappointed. she sounds rather relaxed. also, you are a former employee in Playtime. which is why they seem so angry at you. and the 'don't die yet' that you see in the death screen, mightve been poppy. and the 'stella' in the pink tape is maybe the old woman. Poppy looks around 7-10 to have that voice.

Now this story fits in. Like when you think about it, the people used as experiments to bring the toys to life could also be the orphans. The Stella theory makes sense, but this one with Poppy being an orphan, Stella being involved in the experiments, and Poppy possessing a doll looking like her could be true, too. Great animation btw!
But wasn't Poppy supposed to be an adult wishing to be a kid again?
