No Straight Roads - Yinu Boss Fight (Crazy Mode)

- Hello everyone and welcome to another video of my No Straight Roads boss fight series. In this video, we'll be going up against Yinu, the youngest NSR Artist. As mentioned in the previous video, this is one of my favorite bosses in the game due it's hectic nature, fun fight, several elements of tragedy, and the fight's surprisedly touching ending. Also, who knew a little girl could play the piano so well... A piano that we smash to bits... And said piano was originally her father's... God, do I feel like a jerk. In any case, I hope you all enjoyed this video, and I'll try to upload another boss video later on tonight.

If you pause it just as Yinu glares at the camera, Mayday's sprite had the surprised pikachu face.
That’s just surprising
Ahahahahahaahahahah! Thanks mate!
Wheres the time stamp-
@@OmgHelpICantComeUpWithNames1:33 it’s when Mayday’s sprite starts to move away
it looks like a youtube reaction thumbnail
God what makes the ending scene of this boss hurt more is that the piano was her late father's, he shared his love of the piano with Yinu and after passing away that was all Yinu had left of him. Now its broken. Yet she continues to play on a broken piano and her mother joins her helping her play and growing closer
I love that Yinu’s hair is made out of roses, I never noticed this until my 5th time watching her boss fight
She's the daughter of a forest/tree spirit and a human.
yinu did nothing wrong but exist
It shows that each boss isn’t a bad or good guy. They’re just normal musical artists expect from, the antagonist
Edit: the blame can be taken off you, but not her mom
So for me, the fight with Yinu is the best in the game. Because it evokes a greater emotional response. And she gets to the rhythm of the music.
The final part absolutely sold this as the best song for me: the chaotic swinging of the sway bar as EDM and Rock enter a sort of anarchaic symphony.
i really want to see one of those "pianos are never animate correctly" videos on yinu
I genuinely love how there's no good guys in this fight, I feel like it makes the message of Yinu's story so much greater. This game is too good @_@
Yinu is just a kid so I'm gonna say she gets a pass, for people trying to defend the mom though, look a little closer. She treats her daughter like a puppet, the symbolism alone of her holding up the piano on strings is the biggest sign. Another part of it is how she keeps telling Yinu to play despite her trying to protest at one point, saying 'wait' but being completely ignored.
As someone who's played the game before and read through all the lore, Mama isn't treating her like a puppet at all, in fact, she loves Yinu dearly - but one of her faults is that she's overprotective, and once something endangers Yinu, she tries to stay cool, but then loses all reason if it continues.
shes also in mourning. the piano was yinu's dead father's dream too. she's only a tree woman doing her best in this dang dong world!!
my issue is that theme isn't consistent. If they really wanted to portray that then they failed at making the mother look selfish enough. Like yes I noticed the hints towards that theme in the symbolism, yet they failed to execute on that and instead you just have the story of some pompous brats interrupting a concert just to insult and attempt to beat up a child who's mother then tries to protect her only to also get beat up.
I do get that the mother is doing what she does with good intent and love. But that depth is precisely what makes a character like her more interesting. And does not justify her destroying the entire concert hall, further ruining her daughter’s performance (and probably career as well)
@@jellejoustra4024 that would make sense in most situations, however, where the game kinda fails to solidify that message is that the mother is protecting her young daughter from getting jumped by two hobos! It would’ve worked if they attacked the mother originally and weren’t interested in the child at all (instead feeling sorry for the daughter and trying to help), but no, they didn’t even seem to know who the mom was, they came in with the full intentions to curb stomp a child. Now yes I can see the themes and I know that’s what was intended by the writers. However, they didn’t convey that well in the story.
Yeah, I felt bad for Yinu and her mother here. May and Zuke were the bad guys.
1010 further proves it by Neon J taking the front of the attack to protect 1010 from most of the damage of the final attack May and Zuke do
@@nekogamer2508how? In this battle they fought a little child who got her piano from her father.
Isn’t that the point of the games story? No one was totally good or totally bad (except the main antagonist)
@@jakomioftherose2434 I'm agreeing with you that Mayday and Zuke are the bad guys because neon J tried to protect 1010 from time to end this attack
Bro think about Sayu and Eve horrible experience 💀
I wrote a whole paper on Yinu and NSR using music industry tropes/cliches through the game. Yinu is by far the saddest as she doesn’t have any control. The use of symbolism in the mom and through the whole fight is fantastic though
Can we get a link to that paper? I'm desperate for anything NSR related
Mom is still wearing her wedding ring....
♦️ Fighting Yinu, you'll really wonder who's the bad guy. These girl and guy just want justice for their genre, while this girl just want to play her music. So sad for the girl for losing her piano, but at least they all are in good terms in the end.
Mmm this game gives me all the happy chemicals
Also, tbh, theyre not in the wrong. The mom is basically like "Yeah, so my daughter is in the middle of her performance, can you piss off?"
Yinu: "DO YOU KNOW BULLYING MEANS?" Stare Activated
Mayday: *Stops Yapping Becuase Of Her Creepy Glare*
**IT WAS SUPER EFFECTIVE!**
the ending of that made me cry
Yinu, Along with DJ Subatomic supernova are my favorite piece.
Yinu:I hate you all...
Same
I haven’t played the game so perhaps I’m missing some context, but why are these 2 the protagonists? All I’m seeing here are 2 jackasses interrupting a piano recital they could have just ignored if they didn’t like piano music and attacking a child. What part of the story made this the right thing to do?
They were only trying to bring back rock since literally all the judges including yinu banned rock. So they are not yknow. So these two aren't in the wrong they believed that rock should come back and yeah they fought all the bosses to get there point across. At the end of the game rock was unbanned and all music was equal
basic jist.
world is literally powered by magic music stuff.
these two tried to sign up for joining the peeps in charge, and despite showing they could provid a lot of energy cause of their rock talents and stuff, they were denied cause rock is banned.
so they started rebelling against it and kicking the asses of the peeps in charge.
Yinu and her mom were just members of the organization. nothing more. there were much bigger assholes too.
@@glitchyshow2460Doesn't unsmash the piano, does it?
@@ArchieRatsworththey actually do fix the piano in the end, so the damage was repaired!
@@bradleyadams5252that doesnt really make it any f cing better on account of rhw fact they destroyed Yinus beloved piano that was gifted to her by her dead father x x

Dude YOU ARE LITERALLY AMAZING I swear this is one of the hardest bosses, if not the hardest!
That should be final boss
ok but one segment of the song Yinu plays at the end is reminding me of something, just cant pinpoint it.
It has massive Kingdom Hearts vibes P:
I get Spirited away vibes, personally
I have never heard of this game before but damn is this a good looking boss. goofy enough to be fun but with really sad implications (the mother literally holding the child on puppet strings and protecting her when she goes down, phase 3 looks straight up looks like a cage)
2:46 oh no the one thing every child prodigy has the dreaded STAGE MOM!!!
This holds a special place in my heart since this was the first showcase of this battle
Yinu is actually right about the main characters. They talk big about music but all they do, at any point, is break things.
The game presents them as heroic because we're seeing it from their side, their deluded point of view.
In truth the main characters aren't valiant heroes overthrowing a corrupt system, they're immature jerks who failed at a musical career who are tearing down everyone else who succeeded where they failed out of jealousy.
They're literally spending the whole game throwing a violent tantrum at 'the system' when really they were just two generic wannabe rockers who weren't actually unique enough to stand out among all the other generic wannabe rockers and get spotted and they refuse to accept that it's THEIR homogenousness that is the problem.
Did you play the game?
@@OfficialAtticus I wasn't talking about the system they are opposing but purely about our protagonists.
Remember, the whole game is from THEIR deluded point of view. You have to take everything you see with a grain of salt. Is that really the way it is, pr just the way they see it?
The ending souned sad yet nice
2:14 STAY AWAY FROM MY PIANOOOO ‼️‼️‼️

I don’t know who interested enough to read this but I spontaneously got the idea in a sequel game where the bosses become allies for this go round Yinu and Mayday have a bonding moment about there overbearing parents only to discover that their parents are getting married and the absolute menace they have been forced to deal with is about to become their step sister
There’s only one way to end this!
Way ahead of you, Zuke!
